If you ever need a justification to banning teacher unions, these 2 stories make it.
Granted, I went to a very good school, but I would have assumed everybody knew the Square root sign and, if only from movies, knew what the Confederate flag looked.
(granted (again), most Euro flags look alike to me to the point I can only tell the Union Jack, Red Chinese, ROK, Canuckistan, and Rising Sun for sure at a distance)
