Draw an Egyptian lady

She's got no legs.

Come on. We've done this a million times. All through school, all through college while taking notes. It's based on hieroglyph B1. It's needed for woman, for lady, for goddess, for wife, for sister, and children. We did this ten million times as hieroglyph.

We drew it so many times writing that everybody, all of us scribe types, got sick of drawing it, honestly, it's wearisome, and the whole thing developed to a shortcut in cursive so B1 came out looking like this in hieratic:

And the classic hieroglyphs were leaned upon heavily for all manner of wall art repeatedly all over the place.

I found the cut of the artist's top distracting.

There is a pop song from the 80s... draw like an Egyptian.

Have you noticed how close the words conversation and convert are?. Spooky close.

I know this is not a words post.

It's amazing sometimes how much relationships are all around me that I m not aware of.

For example for as long as I can remember I've used the first three letters of my first name and the first three letters of my last name (along with the digits 01) as my email address/name.

It turns out Lemang is an eastern food delicacy.

I was blown away.

It dawned on me, just a day or two ago, that "miser" and "miserable" start off the same. It was during an episode of "Still Game" when one of the characters referred to Tam as a miserable bastard and then the penny dropped.

I know precious little about ancient Egypt. No school that I remember except some exposure in 7th grade "world history" class. A few visits to museums to see mummies. Movies upon occassion.

Pretty piss poor, all in all.

Hey! Maybe the library has a lecture series on it!

If Egypt was the New York City of its day. Does that mean thousands of years from now the new New York City of that time will be somewhere other than New York City?

Yes, I'm sure you're quite delicious, but cleaning the meat is not for the faint of heart.

Chip, Belinda Carlisle smiles.

As does Anne Baxter.

Ditto Rachel Weisz.

I was lucky to get some exposure early, and I've always been fascinated with it.

Did you know the first girly mag was written in hieroglyphs?

Ever checked out a Mason's Bible? There's a big section in the back devoted to Egyptology. Dated, but riveting none the less.
