backward walking champion

I turned the corner coming out of the elevator on my floor to encounter a boy walking briskly backward and behind the boy facing me a linebacker. The boy will crash into me.

"beep beep"

The boy spun around and froze in his tracks staring up at me stopped mute apparently horrified. The linebacker and I exchange pleasantries. The boy looks on.  I think that I might be the white man the boy is warned about. It's a guess. I don't know. He behaves that way. I sense they warn the boy about people like me to keep him behaved because he freezes mute like that whenever he sees me. I always interrupt a good time.

Now we cannot have that.

That walking backward really is impressive. That takes a good deal of skill. I cannot do it myself. Walking backward is my worst physical feat now it takes an insane amount of concentration. That was very good show-off-y practice that I interrupted.

Here's a drum cover of a favorite old Bob Welch song with Fleetwood Mac:

I found that searching for the time signature of the song "Hypnotized"  by Fleetwood Mac.

It takes him a second to get his groove, but it clicks when the music starts.

Things I like about the video: He used a great camera angle, letting us see what each limb is doing: left hand (traditional grip!) on the snare drum; right hand on the high-hat cymbal; right foot playing sixteenth note triplets; left foot unclamps the high-hat cymbal, leading to that "sucking sound."

I stared at his right hand stick, watching it alternately blur and pause, blur and pause. I felt a bit hypnotized.

Ooooooh she is bleeding from her whatever.....couldn't happen to a nicer gal!

Megyn Kelly’s much-publicized broadcast special with Donald Trump was supposed to launch the Fox News star into the stratosphere of television anchordom. Instead, the widely panned show seems to have achieved the opposite result: It exposed the extent of her limited mainstream appeal. Kelly drew just 4.8 million viewers on Tuesday night, a number television executives say is a disappointment by any measure. Three senior executives I spoke with say an audience of 9 million would have been a success. "Not good for her at all," was how one insider put it.
In the days since, Kelly has been working to contain the fallout. She took aim at critics on her cable show Wednesday night by deploying an age-old Fox News tactic: claiming the backlash was a result of liberal media bias. But behind the scenes, she is said to be worried about the response. “She’s very upset with the show reaction, and in hindsight with how it was produced,” one Fox veteran told me.

I do not think that means what you think it means........

I think the whole Black Lives Matters and Social Justice Warrior crew is in for a bit of a surprise. Most of us are sick and tired of this crew and what they have to say just doesn't matter. Or will have a big negative effect on them.

I knew it......the Pope hates me!

Respected Vatican journalist John Allen reports today his speculation that Pope Francis just does not like America or Americans.

One major clue lies in the Pope’s periodic condemnation of “doctors of the law” and “traditionalists.”
But who are these vaguely-defined groups? After asking many people in and around the Vatican to identify those groups, “the answer I got most was ‘Conservative Americans,” Swiss-born Bishop Bernard Fellay of the renegade Society of St. Pius X, said in an interview with journalist Edward Pentin.

Zika won't sedate athlete sexual appetite: prediction

"Athletes given 450,000 condoms at Rio 2016 Olympics, three times more than in London"
  • The increase can be explained by provision of 100,000 female condoms
  • There is no suggestion that the increase is related to the Zika virus
  • Lubricant will also be available to athletes and staff - 175,000 packets
  • Condoms available from a clinic or vending machines in Athletes' Village

Obama paid NPR to sell Iran Deal

A group the White House recently identified as a key surrogate in selling the Iran nuclear deal gave National Public Radio $100,000 last year to help it report on the pact and related issues, according to the group's annual report. It also funded reporters and partnerships with other news outlets.
The Ploughshares Fund's mission is to "build a safe, secure world by developing and investing in initiatives to reduce and ultimately eliminate the world's nuclear stockpiles," one that dovetails with President Barack Obama's arms control efforts. But its behind-the-scenes role advocating for the Iran agreement got more attention this month after a candid profile of Ben Rhodes, one of the president's top foreign policy aides.
In The New York Times Magazine article, Rhodes explained how the administration worked with nongovernmental organizations, proliferation experts and even friendly reporters to build support for the seven-nation accord that curtailed Iran's nuclear activity and softened international financial penalties on Tehran. blue morning glories

Millions of eBay shoppers thank you for helping them make better buying decisions - and so do we!

Morning Glory- Ensign Blue- 50 Seeds - 50 % off sale]

Ssssh, I'm busy.

The kid at the corner bodega wondered why I asked for tiny paper cups. He pointed in the direction of a surprisingly good selection of cups. "Starting seeds."

This is the first time that I killed the dirt with heat. I'm tired of things growing out it unintended. I've had my whole place taken over with white flies.

These will grow rampant and take over the entire railing. I'll give half away and that's it for blue. But I'd also like to have red, so I bought more seeds for red and this whole thing will be repeated.

Looking for red ones I came across a page asking about blue ones.
"I've been thinking about getting high with morning glories, I know that blue ones are best but which type of blue ones are best?"
What?

It turns out the seeds of morning glories are used to get high. [morning glory, get high]

Imagine an eBay review. "The vines took over, love the flowers, good service, but the high was a bummer. Buy Heavenly Blue seeds instead."

dense long line of people

The line was longer than I’ve seen for the music clubs around here, as I walked then I noticed it’s longer than that, two lines converge at the corner, no, the same line of people wraps around, completely around the block. The line is not moving forward but it is teeming with people shifting in groups. And the people are rather loud. As if drawn to witness some spectacle, an opening of a new Star Wars film, a pontiff, a UFO landing, something spectacular.

And they are altogether an odd looking group.

Once inside Floyd’s across from the spontaneously formed line of people I ask what the people are waiting for.

“I don’t know!”

While waiting inside one of the hairdressers playing with the receptionist comically feigned exasperation, “What are you guys waiting for?”  It was a curious line to suddenly appear for no reason known to any of us.

And then the whole thing moved forward rapidly and  the line disappeared and the sidewalks were cleared in the span of two minutes.

The lady cutting my hair told me they were waiting for a pipe.

“Waiting for what?”

“A pipe.”

“Waiting for what?” The music is loud.

“A pipe.”

“What?”

A PIPE!”

“Oh. How weird. Well that explains why they all look so odd.”

“Come on.” She frowned.

“Yes. I’m judging people on how they look. You look down that whole line of people and now they’re all inside a room. I’m certain I don’t want to be in that room.”

She stepped away laughing and held up her scissors so they didn’t accidentally poke someone while she convulses. She wouldn’t want to be in the room with them either.

That turned out to be a fairly good joke. Imagining yourself in the same room with all those people all at once.

Where do these people get their information?

I told her about photographing people at Burger Fi nearby and how pleased I am with those candid photos. How well I thought they came out. If only I had my camera then I might be able to get something, but I doubted it from this group. Yes, I really am judging people on the way that they look, as photographic subjects, before I was surprised how much character there is in the details of regular people just talking and thinking. That’s what I'd hope to get.

The hairdresser is a short compact Mexican lady, or very Latina looking. She pulled out her phone from her work box and pulled up photos taken by Vivian Maier. The hairdresser told me that she saw a documentary about Maier and was taken by what she saw. Enough so that she keeps her images on her cell phone. The hairdresser showed me an entire slideshow of Vivian Maier photographs saved to her phone.

In the time allowed us she wanted me to study these photographs that she loves so much. A hundred images like these the hairdresser showed me, pleased to have someone show interest. Our conversation ranged from these to the Sartorialist, to Arne Svenson, the NYC privacy invader.

The last thing before the legs give out is carry back a twelve pack of soda. The couple in front of me leaves and the two clerks literally bend laughing once they’re gone, both holding onto the counter their heads disappeared from sight. “What are you laughing at?” I expected something funny about the previous customers, the guy laughing the most said the other one showed him a video on his cell phone of a woman in her car putting on a Chewbacca mask that makes Chewbacca noise when the jaw opens then he opened his mouth widely and made a Chewbacca sound.

(!)

“I saw that. Very funny.  It’s very funny, yes, but not that funny. The woman’s on anti-depressants. She’s on drugs. We’re laughing at a suburban woman on drugs. But what were those people waiting for across the street? Can you imagine being in the same room with all them at once?”

They laughed again. See, it really is a good joke.

But buzzkill on the antidepressants. “Really? You think so?” A new thought sinks in. He answers my question about the spontaneous line of people, “A free Harry Potter mug. With the professor guy, the one who died and was replaced, Dumbledore, that's it, Dumbledore on it.”

That is the perfect description for the line of people individually and collectively, that is exactly what they looked like, people who would wait patiently a very long time in a very long line for a free Dumbledore mug.

"78 Representatives Ask Obama Admin How It Will Force Schools to Obey LGBT Bathroom Order"

PJ Media:  On Friday, a group of 78 representatives signed a letter asking the Department of Education (ED) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) how they would enforce the new interpretation of federal law to grant transgender people access to facilities that do not correspond to their biological sex. Denouncing the "suggested guidance" as an overreach on behalf of the federal government, the representatives challenged the authority of these agencies to issue such an order.

In effect, the Obama administration unilaterally altered federal law by redefining "sex" to include gender. As the letter makes clear, "this guidance expands the ED and DOJ's interpretations of sex discrimination to include not only an individual's biological sex, but also an individual's internal sense of gender."

"The Obama administration's edict redefining long-standing definitions in Title IX [of the Education Amendments of 1972] is another clear overreach of the federal government," declared North Carolina Representative Mark Walker, who drafted the letter and led the charge. "The federal government has no business making these decisions, much less, to threaten stripping federal funds from schools for not following their politically motivated orders." (more)

NRA Endorses Trump

The Washington Times:  Chris Cox, who heads up the NRA’s legislative-lobbying arm, made the announcement in his introduction of Mr. Trump at the NRA-ILA’s “Leadership Forum,” which is part of the gun-rights group’s annual meetings in Louisville.
“We have to unite, and we have to unite right now,” Mr. Cox said. “So on behalf of the thousands of patriots in this room and the 5 million NRA members across this country and the tens of millions who support us, I’m officially announcing the NRA’s endorsement of Donald Trump for president.”
Mr. Cox then introduced Mr. Trump as “the next president of the United States,” which was greeted with resounding applause and cheering from the crowd at the Kentucky Exposition Center.
Mr. Trump appeared somewhat surprised himself at the development.

roiled sky

The clouds are forming and disapating in the crosscurrents right above us all day and all afternoon. Each frame forty seconds apart is its own painting with movement. And when each frame is considered a painted skyscape I'm looking through them for dramatic western sunset that here is disappointingly only five frames and  flash in the corner, the contrails intrude and I can not decide if I like them or not. I wonder, as a painter, would I put contrails in one? Then run together like this their movement really is drama occuring above us and contrails insert us into the drama. The contrails say that we're going places and right through what we see here as if those crosswinds don't matter. That's a bold and brave thing to be doing, to fly right through the drama of weather and do that continuously and do that wholesale, as if weather doesn't matter while it most certainly does.

And below this spot at this time a bum is catching up with me on the sidewalk to a busy main street, easy enough to do I'm slowest one out there, he walks beside me and offers a bud for the two dollars I had given him earlier. I still can't get over that. I thought bums are straight takers. And not friendly engaging givers. And to run half a block to offer. While masses leave contrails above a whole different minor economy, a whole different urgency, one I'd never think of, layers beneath the same clouds.

"Judge orders entire DOJ to remedial don't-lie-to-me class over WH executive amnesty case"

Washington Examiner:  A federal judge has ordered annual ethics classes for Justice Department attorneys as a punishment for being "intentionally deceptive" during litigation over President Obama's executive immigration orders.

"Such conduct is certainly not worthy of any department whose name includes the word 'Justice,'" U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen wrote in a withering order released Thursday.

Justice Department attorneys misled the court about when the Department of Homeland Security would begin implementing President Obama's executive order granting "deferred action" to illegal immigrants whose children are citizens. In doing so, they tricked the 26 states who filed a lawsuit into "foregoing a request for a temporary restraining order," according to the judge. (read more)

A Game of Chicken

'The Chinese people do not want to have war, so we will be opposed to [the] U.S. if it stirs up any conflict,' said Liu Zhenmin, vice minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 'Of course, if the Korean War or Vietnam War are replayed, then we will have to defend ourselves.'
What a brash admission of the proxy nature of the Korean and Vietnam conflicts: We were obviously fighting Red China in both wars-- fighting over China's ancient wattle and feet:

I believe there remains a lot of American ambivalence regarding those 20th century conflicts. And yet, are we willing to knuckle under to Chinese hegemony in all things trade, science, and eventually -- culture?

"Original Beastie Boys Member John Berry Dead at 52"

Rolling Stone:  John Berry, an original member of hip-hop group the Beastie Boys, died Thursday morning at 7:30 a.m. at a hospice in Danvers, Massachusetts. He was 52.
John Berry III, Berry’s father, confirmed his death Thursday afternoon to Rolling Stone. He said his son suffered from frontal lobe dementia, which had worsened in recent months.

This is what Cardinal Sarah was talking about!

Gateway Pundit May 19, 2016
A female security guard working at a Washington, D.C. grocery store was arrested Monday afternoon for physically escorting a man out of the women’s restroom after he refused to leave because he identifies as a woman.
The shopper — a young, African-American male who identified himself as Ebony Belcher to local news outlets — reportedly passed the security guard on his way into the women’s restroom at a Giant grocery store in Northeast D.C.
After seeing Belcher walk into the women’s restroom, the security guard followed him in and ordered the man to leave. When he refused, the security guard had to physically escort him out of the women’s restroom.

The guy who should have been Pope speaks out! Finally somebody who knows what he is talking about!

In a scathing address at a prayer breakfast in Washington D.C. this week, a high-ranking Vatican cardinal has denounced an “insidious war” against Christians taking place in the United States under the guise of tolerance.

While other countries face “merciless beheadings,” “bombings of churches” and “torching of orphanages,” in the United States Christians face an “equally damaging, yet more hidden” form of religious persecution, warned Cardinal Robert Sarah, the African prelate serving as the prefect of the Vatican Congregation for Divine Worship.
Sarah (whose name is pronounced Sar-AH and not like the English girl’s name) said that in America, “political leaders, lobby groups and mass media seek to neutralize and depersonalize the conscience of Christians so as to dissolve them in a fluid society without religion and without God.”
By doing this, he said, they are carrying out “the will of the Evil One.”

"Chinese couple spend wedding night copying Communist constitution"

The Guardian:  In what may rank as one of the least romantic wedding nights in history, a Chinese couple reportedly spent their first night of marital bliss transcribing the Communist party’s 17,000-word constitution as part of a campaign designed to shore up support for President Xi Jinping’s administration.
Photographs posted on social media showed the newlyweds – both civil servants from the eastern province of Jiangxi – perching next to a balloon-covered double bed as they copied out parts of the 11-chapter text.
Li Yunpeng and his bride, Chen Xuanchi, saw the task as a way of creating “beautiful memories” of their wedding night, their employer, the Nanchang railway bureau, wrote in an online message. (more)

"CBS put on defensive for new shows starring white males..."

Soon observers began to accuse the broadcaster of not doing enough to cast women and actors of color at a time when the rest of the industry was making strides in that direction.
On Wednesday, CBS unveiled its fall schedule to reporters and network executives were asked about the network’s “male-centered” lineup.

"To Reclaim America, Abolish the Federal Agencies"

PJ:  The decline of America, perhaps surprisingly, can be traced directly to the Nixon administration. Surprising, because the Left hated Tricky Dick with a passion that can only be compared with the passion that animates the never-Trump crowd: sheer, animal loathing. Surprising, because Nixon was the most domestically liberal, if not actually leftist, president we've had until Obama. Surprising, because to this day old Nixon-haters still foam at the mouth at the very thought of the man who took down the "pink lady," Helen Gahagan Douglas, and saved Israel in 1973; a year later, of course, they finally sacked him over Watergate.
But it was during the first Nixon administration that the hideous monstrosity of the Environmental Protection Agency came into being by executive order, along with its ugly twin, the Occupational Safety and Health Act. Seemingly innocuous and well-intentioned at the time, both agencies have metastasized, their original missions completed and now forever on the prowl for something else to meddle with. They're both unconstitutional, of course, but what's even worse is that they've turned into rogue agencies, issuing edicts, orders and regulations largely devoid of congressional scrutiny -- pure instruments of executive power, with none to gainsay them.
To get an idea of just hoe obnoxious and intrusive these do-gooder agencies have become, get a load of this from Lou Ann Rieley, who owns a farm in Delaware: (continue)

This is a bad one, and boy, am I ever embarrassed. It's hard to admit but if I do then maybe life can go on. This whole time I thought the song by the Cranberries "Zombie" had repeated lyrics "Tommy" as in British souldier and the song being about the futility of war, and it is.

I never put together the title on the CD and the song playing. And I never did see the title on the CD for the song that I thought was repeating Tommy.

So, whenever they say Zombie I say Tommy ever since the song came out.

Knowing the truth makes the song worse from my point of view. I like Tommy better than Zombie and now I need a sign for zombie and there isn't one. It's one of those signs that is pantomimed. I never had a need for the word. None of the dictionaries have it. But it's become a popular subject generally so the kids must have invented one. Turns out there are two ways to sign zombie. One is pantomime how a zombie moves similar to robot with thier arms extended forward rising up and down. The other is 4 hand configuration bent toward your own eyes and shifted back and forth as if mesmerizing yourself. And that is the sense of the word in the song Zombies, the same thing going through their heads over and over as zombies.

Looking for what the kids came up with I found the cutest site that purports to prepare you for the zombie apocalypse. The page is easy to find [zombie asl]. The interpreter puts on some pretty good zombie makeup and shows those kind of words, bite, blood, chainsaw, contageous, dead, disease, gross, hungry, infect, intestines, everything in the zombie world except the word "zombie" and the word "apocalypse."

Hey! Sick and disease are the same thing except disease is with Ds and "virus" begins with "sick," a ligature with the word "spread." And "victim" is the same thing as "vampire."

Commenters like it. One commenter is looking for "apocalypse" and still cannot find it. It's too long to fingerspell. Apparently he needs it. Don't you think "world destruction" will do? "[Destroy] is a fun sign too, it's like a credit card machine except it really does look like your fingers are being dragged to smithereens first backwards then flattened forward. It's a great sign.

Here's the interpreter at Zombie ASL is showing the sign for "rifle" another pantomime sign, now, I'm not much of a gun guy and I'll bet neither is he. Unless his rifle's a canon.

Oversight chairman moves to censure IRS chief

Fox News:  The chairman of the top House investigative panel introduced a measure Wednesday to censure IRS Commissioner John Koskinen -- and remove him from office without a pension -- in the latest bid by Republicans to pressure him into being more cooperative in their probe of the 2013 IRS targeting scandal.
Rep. Jason Chaffetz, head of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, is seeking Koskinen’s resignation or removal for what he calls an alleged “pattern of conduct inconsistent with the trust and confidence placed in him as an officer of the United States.”
If censured, Koskinen, who became commissioner in 2013, would also forfeit his government pension and other federal benefits.

"Hillary’s unlikely ally: The media"

The Democratic presidential front-runner has had a long, contentious relationship with the press, most notably in her 2008 run for the White House. But 2016 figures to be much different.
Much of the political media disdain Trump, and that feeling is palpable in green rooms in New York City and Washington, D.C.
The thought of a Trump presidency simply scares political journalists for a number of reasons, including his proposal to “open up” libel laws to make it easier to sue media companies.
Many pundits had to eat their words when they predicted Trump would implode and had no shot at winning the Republican nomination. Now that the celebrity businessman is the presumptive nominee, Trump critics in the media, including some on the right, don’t want him to win in November. (more)

"Half of all heart attack victims 'do not realise they have had one'"

Independent:  Experts said 45 per cent of people who have heart attacks suffered what they called the “silent” variety, where patients believe they have strained a muscle or have indigestion.
Silent heart attacks can cause just as much damage as heart attacks which are instantly recognised. But as silent attacks do not come with the usual symptoms of chest or arm pain, patients do not seek treatment which can help prevent another.
The research, published in the American Heart Association journal Circulation, found people who have silent heart attacks are three times more likely to die of heart disease and 34 per cent more likely to die from any cause.

Inside the Trump Campaign Volume 1

“All right pipe down and let’s get started” said Donald Trump as he gathered together all of his closest advisors to help plan out the Republican Convention. “Corey what’s the plan? I want this convention to be the best convention ever! It is gonna be yuge! Who have we lined up for entertainment?”
“We have a bunch of singers. We start off every night with Twisted Sister sing “We’re Not Gonna Take  It” while the Convention goers smash big piñata’s of Hillary Clinton. They hit her cankles and candy treats come out” replied Corey Lewandowski his campaign manager. Corey styled himself as a clone of Doug from “House of Cards.” Same bald head. Same cutthroat attitude. Like most of them he has a tenuous grip on reality. To him it was all a show.

"This new tattoo ink is designed to disappear after a year"

If you've ever considered getting a tattoo but have been put off by its permanence - who knows how you'll feel about that "E = mc2" face tattoo in 10 year's time? - then a new startup called Ephemeral has you covered. The fledgling company, run by a team of New York University graduates, is developing a special kind of tattoo ink that disappears in just one year.
Basically, after a year has passed, the tattoo starts to fade, and you have the opportunity to either adapt the original design or simply get rid of it. Oh, and current tattoo artists won't need specialised equipment to use the new ink, so if this stuff makes it to market, it shouldn't be too hard to find. (more)

Another hoax exposed

Jordan Brown made the initial allegations more than three weeks ago. The openly gay pastor said at the time that he ordered a cake with the phrase “Love Wins” on it and instead got a cake with that phrase and a homophobic slur on it.
Whole Foods has now dropped their counter suit after "the truth has come to light," according to a statement from the company.
Brown said in a statement Monday morning that he was “wrong to pursue this matter and use the media to perpetuate this story.”
“I want to apologize to Whole Foods and its team members for questioning the company’s commitment to its values, and especially the baker associate who I understand was put in a terrible position because of my actions,” Brown said in his statement Monday.
Brown continued, “I apologize to the LGBT community for diverting attention from real issues. I also want to apologize to my partner, my family, my church family, and my attorney.”  (video at the link)

Penn Jillette on the Clintons

We have Hillary Clinton — while you were alive, while you were sexually active, three years ago — saying marriage is just between a man and a woman. ...
And yet many people in [the gay community] are supporting Hillary, and their reason for supporting her is that "she was always in favor of gay rights, but she had to say what she had to to be elected." …
She came out in favor of the pacific trade deal, very strongly in favor of it, and now she’s against it.
And that’s not seen as flip-flopping, it’s not really seen as a revelation or learning something — it’s seen as "she is politically expedient, and we want someone who is politically expedient."
The followers of Hillary Clinton seem to think they have a secret deal with her — where they understand what she really believes, what she’s really going to do — and they are willing to support her as she bends the truth in order to be elected. …
Why do the people who support Hillary think that what she’s saying is to manipulate other people and not to manipulate them? (read the whole thing)

"Reddit administrators accused of censorship"

FOX News: Administrators at the popular online forum Reddit have been accused of censorship after quarantining a subreddit titled 'european.'
Subreddits, which are also known as communities, are forums dedicated to specific topics.
“The administration has decided to censor free speech for Europeans and they quarantined the subreddit on the 12th of May 2016,” says a note on the subredditlink. With the subreddit set to private, the note adds that “You must be a moderator or approved submitter to visit.” Visitors to the subreddit were also urged to continue their discussions on Voat, another online forum.
The question of bias in social media has erupted recently. The Reddit accusation came just days after anonymous allegations that contractors at Facebook deliberately suppressed conservative news on the site’s Trending Topics section. Facebook has denied any political bias, saying there is “no evidence” of the alleged activity.

Call the Midwife….this week’s episode foreshadows the Mess we are in.

I bet you are really bored of my “Call the Midwife” posts. But guess what. I don’t care. It interests me. This week was very insightful and something we could talk about. Because the episode is right on point with the Supreme Court decision today.

The big reveal this week was that the birth control pill had finally come to socialized medicine in England. The pervy doctor who seduced a nun away from the convent was all excited about peddling birth control to all the people in the East End.  He is especially happy to give it to the unmarried people so they can go out and screw indiscriminately. And the British Socialized Medicine will pay for it Sandra Fluke. Imagine that. Think of him as Obama.

Opposite him is Sister Julienne the head of the Convent. Who wants him to stop for a minute and think about the effect this will have on the family and the community. That maybe this might not be a good thing. That maybe we should look to religion and associate sexuality with marriage and committed relationships instead of fumbling in the convent hallway. Which happened with one of the nerdy nurses and the randy pervy priest who is working his way through the nurse population like a less murderous Richard Speck. Sister Julienne thinks that maybe they should not be peddling contraceptives as members of a religious order. Think of her as the Little Sisters of the Poor.

start with beady little eyes.

“justice-involved individuals”

NY Post:  The neo-Orwellianism comes to us from the bizarre flurry of last-minute diktats, regulations and bone-chilling threats collectively known to fanboys as Obama’s Gorgeous Goodbye.
In another of those smiley-faced, but deeply sinister, “Dear Colleague” letters sent to universities and college this week, Obama’s Education Secretary John King discouraged colleges from asking applicants whether they were convicted criminals.
So rapists, burglars, armed robbers and drug dealers aren’t criminals anymore. These folks are simply “involved” with “justice,” according to Obamanoids.

"Beyoncé’s sportswear line reportedly made in Sri Lankan sweatshop"

NY PostBritain’s The Sun on Sunday said its investigation found that the star’s Ivy Park label, featured in Topshop stores, is made by Sri Lankan seamstresses paid only $6.17 a day.  A 22-year-old sewing machine operator told the newspaper that she lives in a 100-room boarding house near the factory in the town of Katunayake.
“All we do is work, sleep, work, sleep,’’ she said.
The young woman said she can’t survive on her salary of $125.30 a month.
That’s just a bit over half the Sri Lankan average monthly income of $235.49, according to the newspaper.
