Clown LIves Matter

Washington Examiner By Kyle Feldscher 10/5/16

After a wave of creepy clown sightings and crimes committed by people in clown masks, professional clowns around the country are fighting back by declaring 'Clown Lives Matter.'

People in clown make up or costume have been spotted around the country in recent months, resulting in headlines questioning what exactly is going on. Many people have been frightened by the sightings and, in recent days, people dressed as clowns have begun robbing people.

Professional clowns see this as a threat to their livelihood. Jordan Jones, aka Snuggles the Clown, told a Pennsylvania TV station that his work is suffering because of it.

"Everyone took this as a joke but it's really become serious now, and I just want all these teenagers to know that it's not a game anymore," Jones told Fox 43. "You're ruining my job and other actors around the world."
Jones works at Screamland Farms in Frederick, Md., and told the TV station that his family is afraid for his safety due to profiling in response to the frequent clown sightings.
On the other side of the country, a group of clowns plan to take to the streets next weekend in order to show people that they mean no harm.
A Clown Lives Matter march is planned for 6:30 p.m. Oct. 15 in Tucson, Ariz., according to the ABC affiliate there.

The goal is to show people that professional clowns are not actually trying to kill them.
"This is a peaceful way to show clowns are not psycho killers," stated a flyer obtained by the TV station. "We want the public to feel safe, and not be afraid. So come out, bring the family, meet a clown and get a hug!"

Observe the power of the media to take a small thing and blow it up to a national distraction:
1. A few crazies being/seeing clowns publicized for local interest in slow news cycle (August)
2. Someone notices coincidental "trend"
3. Reach-back into the archives for other weird clown stories
4. Discussions about how clowns are creepy
5. Copycats
6. Actual clowns weigh in in defense of actual clowns
7. More copycats
6. Clown posses formed
7. Insane Clown Posse weighs in for publicity
8. Clown Lives Matters formed
9. Clownpocalypse: Obama weighs in on clown menace, takes entirely predictable passive-aggressive shot at Trump, returns to golf game
10. Clinton in rainbow teletubby pantsuit and full pancake inspires nationwide unspoken clown comparison; media decries "implicit" sexism bias
11. Halloween episode of Modern Family briefly revives Fizbo, discovered dead in a closet at the Pritchett closet factory by ... Cam
12. Dead body in clown makeup found. Never identified. Copycatting decried.
13. More copycats
14. Election
15. The end
