"John Kasich Drops Out of Presidential Race"

NYT:  Gov. John Kasich of Ohio, a moderate voice who tried to portray himself as the adult in the Republican primary field but failed to win any state but his own, is ending his long-shot quest for the presidency on Wednesday, according to two people briefed on his decision.

Mr. Kasich’s departure, a day after Donald J. Trump’s victory in the Indiana primary, leaves Mr. Trump as the only candidate remaining in the Republican race. His closest challenger, Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, dropped out Tuesday night.

A conventional candidate in an unconventional race, Mr. Kasich outlasted the other governors in the Republican field. But his longevity was largely a testament to his unbending refusal to drop out long after it became clear that voters were not flocking to his campaign.

Meth, A pompous, underachieving, asshole if ever there was one. More than any of the 16 lightweights in the Republican primary, I think Kasich embodied what people hate about the Republican party. I know a guy here will say it's Christie. But, he better get ready to suck it up if and when Christie is appointed AG.

Kasich would have gone all the way to June if he'd found somebody with more money than brains.

I guess The Donald gets all the remaining delegates - 445 of them, so he'll have about 1500.

The Rinse crowd, or maybe Amanda Carpenter and her blacklist, is still going to try to figure a way to screw him, but I think it will be a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing

nd, it would be Rudy, not Christie. Christie gets to run the Civil rights Division or something.

Unless there's an authentic Italian deli in Ohio Kasich's gonna suffer terrible withdrawal pangs.

The best burn of the primary season.

"Did you know that John Kasich father was a postman. I hear that John Kasich is going to withdraw. I just wish that his father had withdrawn earlier."

That's gotta leave a mark.

Rather than trashing - why not do something to help your candidate.

Why?
Because he's losing.

CNN/ORC poll: Hillary up over Trump by 13

Joe Biden, America's Putin said...

REad down to the kicker.

Worth noting: The CNN/ORC poll in May 2012 had Obama up by three over Romney, 49/46, not far off from the eventual 51/47 outcome. Romney only trailed among women by three points at that time, and led in the South 51/47. Trump’s starting off in a far deeper hole than Romney did against Obama.

I think Trump and his angry supporters are so into trashing trashing trashing, (It's like a drug) they don't see how the trashing shrinks the Trump-party. An ever shrinking group of angry voters will not equate to a win in November.

Whatever you say April. You have been telling me that Trump has been losing since the first primary. That Rubio or Cruz or someone else will ultimately win. How did that work out?

Hillary can't even put away a communist. Trump is going to beat her like a baby seal.

And you know what? He doesn't need Ben Sasse or William Kristol or the Wheelchair guy or George Will or all of the bow tie wearing poofter pajama boys that ever worked on John McCains or Mitt Romney's failing campaigns.

Does the Art of the Deal include any humility at all, or is it just the middle finger 24/7?

I know Trump has glided around with his wealth to shield him, but his media shield is going to fall down like a curtain around the wizard, and his already high unfavorables are going to sky-rocket. Hillary Clinton is counting on it, and the pro-Hillary media are only gathering steam.

Troop - re-read my posts. I said I thought Trump would win the nomination and lose the general. Here we are - the general has arrived, and Trump has nothing to say or offer without his ability to trash other R's. Nothing.

It's a new day. It is not left right anymore. It is up/down. There are millions of Americans who want something different. You call them angry to denigrate them. You call them desperate to make them the other the way the pundits like to do.

I will give you an example. You rightly say that Trump has a lot of trouble with women. Well Hillary has more trouble with men. Men of all types. White. Black. Even Latinos. There is a long way to go. Trump hasn't started in on the old bag yet.

I know you are invested in Trump losing. A lot of people are. That's ok. Everybody needs a rice bowl.

Joe Biden, America's Putin said...

lalalalala. Ignore the CNN poll that was 99.9% accurate in 2012. lalalalalala.

If you'll excuse me, It's a perfect day here on planet earth. I'm off to enjoy a rare afternoon off. Soon America will be in the grips of a corrupt pit of Clintonopolis.

I want to enjoy the free air while I can.

I understand what you want April. You want Trump to act more Presidential. More refined. To abandon what got him here. What got him to beat 16 rival. To be more like Mitt.

I ain't gonna happen.

Americans are selfish that's true. We want what is right for America. Not for Saudi Arabia. Not for Iraq or Syria or Germany or China or Russia. For Americans.

Hillary is old and tired. She can't stand up. She can't even beat an old raddled commie who isn't even a Democrat.

That poll BTW was less than a thousand registered voters.

We all know a sample of the country should be 3000 likely voters and, given its filtered through the prism of HotAir, which we know is a bought and paid for subsidiary of NeverTrump, the possibility they could be wrong, especially with a guy who was supposed to fade last September and then wasn't supposed to win a primary.

I just read that Ted Cruz inadvertently elbowed Heidi in the face moments after dropping out of the Republican presidential contest Tuesday night.

That's going to leave a mark.

Trooper York said...

Ouch. Here's the story. Poor Heidi.

edutcher said...

I saw that, but I refrained from mentioning it.

I presume I get no dispensation.

The one I want to see is Ted Cruz's daughter: My dad wore a pink boa, underwear, and it's on video

BTW that poll we'ere supposed to be terrified of is naught but battlespace prep.

We do comprende this, correct?

I know some people would rather see Hillary win, but we're not getting paid.

April, Ever try and talk sense into an alcoholic? I have. Until they have a moment of clarity, it's a waste of time. Trumpaholics are worse. Trump beat 10 bantamweights[although Gilmore was not available for a weigh in, he was drooling too heavily] a couple lightweights and a middleweight. These low energy/testosterone Trumpaholics are feeling their oats. I would give them a few days, give them time to have a few circle jerks[Viagra and tweezers are available @ Nurse Ratchet's station]. Right now they are snockered on Trump White Lightning. Available @ your local liquor store. Just walk in and say, "Trump me" and the clerk will give you 20% off Trump White Lightning.

We'll see.

We've all been amazed and to a good extent dismayed at how effectively Trump tore Republican party a new asshole. i should have expected all kind of tore up shit to pour out of it but I didn't.

He sounds avuncular. He says calmingly, "i'm going to take care of you." And he has three gorgeous babes and I mean gorgeous, one of them preggers, all of them nodding agreement. Yes, they are taken care of. I think we may be impressed with how Trump reverses these touted numbers. We don't believe the numbers anyway, they're always bogus. They always are. Always. The proof is in the proof.

I was going to say pudding just then but i'm off pudding for now. It's just chocolate sludge. Then you poo chocolate sludge, but all this does not support my point.

Conversely Hillary's numbers are horrible. horrible horrible horrible. Nobody likes her. Only crackpots like her and they're diminishing.

We saw how Trump treated his friends to destroy their political ambitions. We see how positively insane he's willing to take it. We question his sanity. We expect him to do the same thing with hillary. Start soft. Say obvious things. kick up the heat. Say what everyone thinks no matter how rotten. Finally when foe is defeated and discouraged then get really insane with wild-ass unrelated accusations having to do with hitler and having to do with prostitutes, and having to do with lesbian relationships with top assistants. Observers are expecting him to smash her face in and smear it all over the road. Back up and do it again. As we've seen.

I'm kind of hoping. Now that he's made this far against that kind of opposition. He's convinced me it's possible. Hope, change, yes we can, pie-face, etc.
