I love watching animals and people. I just walked ~10 miles in SF. I stopped @ different spots along the way. There is a park across from the beautiful St Peter and St. Paul church in North Beach, the Italian neighborhood where Joe D grew up. Even if you haven't been to SF you saw this church in a classic scene in Dirty Harry where a priest acts as bait for the psycho killer. North Beach borders Chinatown. In the park a Chinese woman was patiently and painstakingly drying bok choy on a blanket. She had the blanket in the sun. Every 15 minutes or so she would step from the shade of a tree where she stood and gently turn over some of the bok choy. She looked to have 4 sections that she alternately turned. The care and patience is remarkable to me. A great food culture. I know, you're saying WTF? I understand your incredulity.

SF is a great city to visit (just don't get shot by any homeless criminals at the piers).

Headed to Reno this morning, Evi. I seem to remember a song about someone getting shot there.

Nick: Check out Virginia City if you get the chance. A well preserved mining wild west town that Mark Twain lived at for a while.

I once saw an Italian car show in that park - the church of Sts. Peter and Paul has long been one of my favorites - the interior is very nice, too.

My usual walk included going up to Coit Tower and taking in the view. Great place from which to view the city and the bay.
