My pal Rob rides a home-made recumbent bike. I should take a photo. He actually had a direct line to the main guy at Schwinn at one point, and there were plans to re-create the thing. Nothing ever came of it. It's like a low-rider or a chopper-cycle. Kids often stop him and ask if they can see it or buy it. It's cool albeit home-made Mr. Red Green. His idea was to actually make it a bicycle version of a chopper with long handlebars and lots of chrome. Of course recumbent bikes are not unusual, or out of the ordinary. I see plenty of them about.
lol the white one lacks pedals. The one with the bronze tires his too heavy on one side. The beige one with the leather seat has the seat directly over the pedals, not conducive to angular momentum of something.
I like the green one, though I'm sure there's something wrong with it!

Too much weight on the rear wheel. The axle will fail in a few thousand miles.

Those are cool. I really like the pink bike at the link. Though, it doesn't have enough granny gears.
All form and no function. Tullio Campagnolo would have never built those.
