He sidesteps saying what the actual ingredients are in the secret sauce. He makes an equivalent sauce.

Remove that center slice of bread, and boom - a winnah.

Very good point, April. Take away that center slice that makes it too bread and it's a helluva sandwich.

Ha ha, he bought bread.

100% beef just like our restaurants.

Quit ruining our joke. McDonalds: One hundred trillion hamburgers sold and nearly used up one whole cow already.

I always thought it was Thousand Island Dressing, and it pretty much is.

So dull and serious. At least he could have burst into the jingle or given it a little hum.

From the 1975 Commercial: Two all beef patties, special sauce, cheese, lettuce, pickles onions...

With that memory jog followed by a video revealing Ten Disgusting Facts about McDonalds.

Back in 75, before product content regulations for fast food, the sauce was considered a secret.

The larger philosophical question is why you'd want to make your own Big Mac. It's not like they're a rare, hard to find delicacy.

I discovered that in Ohio nobody knows what Russian dressing is. 500 miles away in NJ it's all over the place.

A side effect is that you can't get a sloppy joe in Ohio. Ohio thinks a sloppy joe is some chopped meat in a red sauce, not the NJ swiss, ham, cole slaw and russian dressing beauty.

What goes on across Pennsylvania I can't say, but it's no wonder that the whopper sauce is unknown.

Funny, Wiki says it's only North Jersey that calls a cold sandwich with deli meat and Russian dressing a Sloppy Joe. Like the joke on Barney Miller when Carter's Justice Department shows up at the Old One Two: "Yall are the ones with the accents now.

Well if you get to Millburn, Summit or New Providence NJ, order a sloppy joe from the deli. It's the greatest sandwich ever.
