I wonder if she is going to run to her cousin Chuck Schumer for some senatorial help in figuring out how to keep herself from getting outed. She has just been branded the Carlos Mencia of Female Comedians.

Cosby defamation suit is thrown out. Told ya.

Meh, I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt. You've got to realize that women are less practiced in the art of being funny, and generally tend to start with all the same starting material to focus on: Sex, sex, guys, periods and sex. And other little things.

The big breakthrough comedienne will be one who goes out on a huge world tour and gets raucous laughs, sort of like Eddie Murphy. Lisa Lampanelli has brought me close to that point, during her seven-minute segments on Comedy Central's roasts, but that's about it. It's just a lot harder for the more nitpick-y gender to be as funny. Being funny involves seeing the bigger picture.

OT, but I recently ran across a Robin Williams skit where he tells of an interviewer with a German reporter, who asks him why there aren't any good comedians in her country. He asks her, "Do you think it might be because you killed all the funny people?" Not battling an eyelash, she replies in deadpan, "No." Williams says at this point, even God's going, "DO YOU GET IT?" "Knock-knock. WE ask the questions!"

Now he was a funny guy. It takes energy and raising babies (or endlessly pondering how to do so) is just not conducive to that kind of manic output.

Well, the timing makes it her very own joke........I saw Trainwreck. It had some funny bits. It wasn't as good as Bridesmaids, but it was better than the last Hangover sequel.

She's funnier than Lena Dunham. Give her that much credit.. Sarah Silverman used to be funnier, but Sarah's jokes work better when told by a hot, young chick. There's something funny and vaguely erotic when an attractive young woman tells extremely obscene jokes, but they're not so effective when told by an older woman. . Amy has factored in the chunkiness into her material so perhaps she'll age better. Melissa McCarthy seems to have forged the uncreated conscience of her sex.. Her movie, Spies, was funny by any yardstick. If you can only see one fat comedienne this year, I recommend Melissa.
