Protestors disrupt Bernie Sanders speech

Bureau of Land Management? [blm, sanders

Washington Post Sanders leaves Seattle stage after event disrupted by Black Lives Matter protesters.

Oh. Those guys again. I wouldn't have thought of that on my own. I wonder if Democrats are active having them all shut up the way Republicans jump on Trump who is presently their party's frontrunner, and his supporters for enabling him, or if the Democrats welcome the additional disruption. Lie. No I don't wonder that.

GOP Debate: The Rap

"You can talk about the Donald Trump vs. Megyn Kelly and Red State war… or you can laugh. And relax. And really enjoy life and politics right now."

Pay attention to what's going on stupid!

"You are not going to distract me Catwoman. I know your game."
"You think your cat like wiles are going to work on me. Well they will not. I am going to keep my eye on the balls. Errr ball. No  matter what. We are going to elect a Rhino if it is the last thing we do."
"It is Jeb Bush or bust."
"No not that bust. What are you some kind of pervert. None of that hetero normal stuff is allowed in this debate. Now I have to go get some of my Caitlyn Jenner cereal boxes autographed."

Can we get that dentist to switch to Rhinos?

The continual attack on celebrity idiot Donald Trump is getting harder and harder to take. The Rhinos are charging and trying to gore him and anyone who gets in their way. Don't they get that Trump is not the issue. It is the people he resonates with and who support him even though he is rug wearing pompous New York asshole?

The latest pansy ass pajama boy who is losing his shit is faux conservative Kevin D. Williamson of the NRO blog who wrote a new screed entitled "Donald Trump: All Bluster and Babbitt." It seems that the people who support and enjoy Trump offend his elitist refined tastes. I mean he went to some big time school and is a big shit intellectual.

Did he even read Babbitt? Does he know what the story is about? That it was written by a hard line socialist/communist who wanted to mock and belittle the values of the boring middle class of America. You know. The people who go to church. Who work and pay their bills. Who have traditional values. You know. Republicans.

So he is saying that Donald Trump is too Babbitty? Too much of a middle class boring traditional guy? What a freaking moron. Trump is a three time married profligate spending bankrupt douche nozzle. He is not what people are responding to in droves. It is what he is saying. It is telling it like it is about the criminal element in the immigration debate. That of course he paid off the Clinton machine because that is the price of doing business in this era of crony capitalism. That you don't need to be politically correct. That you don't need to be a ball less wonder like Mitch McConnell and the Unspeakable Speaker. That you need to say what you mean and not worry if you are offending the delicate sensibilities of people who would never vote for a Republican anyway anyhow.

These douchenozzles like Williamson and Jonah Goldberg don't understand that they are making Trumps case for him. That when they knock Babbitt they mock Republicans. If they disgust them so much why don't they go over to the metro-sexual Democrats where they will feel more comfortable. I am sure they have some spare pajamas and a cup of tea for them.

EPA accidentally contaminates Animas river

A river in southern Colorado from Durango to New Mexico has turned carrot orange with wastewater from a nearby mine that is being investigated by EPA. The release occurred during the EPA investigation calling for another investigation by EPA with State Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety for the exact cause.

Believed to be approximately a million gallons heavy with zinc, lead, arsenic gushed into Cement Creek then Animas River. Towns along the river have cut off water temporarily and all river activity is halted.

The general cause is already known. A company bought property with a mine. The company never mined. The mine contained contaminated waste water and there are reasons for believing the mine did not produce all that contamination by itself, it is believed that much of the wastewater collected there over time as the mines were abandoned. The EPA is investigating that. During a hiatus the EPA backfilled a large hole, upon returning heavy equipment created an opening before the wastewater was pumped out as planned.

The corporation has released a couple statements saying they had nothing to do with what happened and blaming EPA.

This is the Four Corners area where the borders of four western states cross neatly as squares. Silverton and Durango, two tiny towns tucked into the bottom corner of Colorado. Durango, the town that is more active, keeps an old train running between the two. The short tourist train ride between the two towns is worth the effort of going there. You are guaranteed the most extraordinary photographic opportunities right from the train no matter the time of year.

The mine itself is located in Aztec New Mexico.

If you can't take the heat stay out of the kitchen!

Today's bullshit controversy is the Rug being disinvited from Red States candidate forum because he "insulted" Megyn Kelly by say saying she was bleeding "out of eyes. Bleeding out of her whatever."

Look I hate Donald Trump. As much as the next guy. I have about fifty posts on my blog with the tag "Donald Trump is a Douchebag." But if you want to play in the NFL you have to be able to take a hit. Megyn Kelly is a careerist news bunny first and foremost. A better looking Nancy Grace.  A pretend conservative Katie Couric. She is following Diane Sawyers career path. The first thing they would say about Sawyer was that she had worked with Nixon. But in fact she is your garden variety mainstream media liberal hose bag. Just like Megyn. There are approximately a million appropriate and important questions she could have asked the Rug. ISIS. The Ukraine. The Iran treaty. Baltimore and the attempt to force the delegitimization of the police by the Obama administration. Instead she went with "Does God talk to you" and "Why don't you approve an abortion for the health of the mother" and "Why are you mean to women?" Total bullshit.

She is like the hot bartender that all the losers praise and tip and think will be interested in dating when she doesn't give a crap about them. Doesn't even know that they exist.  Because she is only in love with the person she saw in the mirror.

Not to say that Wallace and Baier were any better. Fox better up their game. Big time.

Mark Levin Rips Megyn Kelly

Thanks to Third Coast for the tip. I haven't heard part 1, but I thought this was so good I had to share it.

I liked the part about Fox News doing Clinton-style opposition research

What does it take to get a NY City worker fired?

How do you fire a man who is already dead? He deserves better. The agency itself should have known,” said Ted Willbright, who added that he considered Toliver as a brother.
“Some people he worked with were very supportive, so how did HRA the organization not know? He’s dead, and they’re saying he abandoned his job. He didn’t abandon his job, his job abandoned him. He was a good man. Truly, truly a good man.”
HRA officials said they sought to remove Toliver from his $38,000-a-year job after they couldn’t reach him for well over a year.
“We did everything we could to contact him and his family,” said HRA spokesman David Neustadt. “This employee was not paid when he wasn’t working, but we left his job open in case he recovered.
Well, at least he didn't die because a piss corroted city lamp post fell on him. It could have been worst.

"Target Removes Gender Labels From Kids Sections After Complaints"

As guests have pointed out, in some departments like toys, home or entertainment, suggesting products by gender is unnecessary,” Target said. “We heard you, and we agree. Right now, our teams are working across the store to identify areas where we can phase out gender-based signage to help strike a better balance.”
In June, Ohio mom Abi Bechtel called out Target’s gender designations in its toy aisle. She posted a photo to Twitter that showed store signs for “Girls’ Building Sets” next to regular “Building Sets.” The outcry was swift, with angry shoppers calling for change.
“It stood out to me as a good example of the way our culture tends to view boys and men as the default, normal option and girls and women as the specialized option,” Bechtel told CNN at the time.
Without signs I'm completely lost. It's a good thing I don't have kids of my own.

KLEM FM

Listen Megyn Kelly!!!!!!

I know you hate Donald Trump. Hey I hate him too! He is not going to be the nominee. I know you took your orders from Rhino central to pull out the bogus "woman question." I mean you are pissed off because the Rug said that a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice would look good "down on her knees." Well sweetheart Hillary's husband had his interns on their knees. That is where he would put any hot looking subordinate or they would lose their job. Paula Jones. Doncha remember that? Are you going to ask Hillary about that? Or would that mean you don't get invited to those Georgetown Cocktail parties where you can flirt with Pajama boy?

So take your politically correct "You are offending womens delicate sensibilities" and stuff it in one of your many unoccupied holes.

Here's the thing. If we can't make fun of Rosie O'Donnell then the terrorists have won.

Another celebrity sex tape!

Once again they are inflicting another celebrity sex tape on us. After Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian and Mike Huckabee you think they would be old news. Now of course they have to bring the homosexuals into the mix.

Well actually the Lesbian.

Yes Sarah Jessica Parker has a sex tape out.

Matthew Broderick can not be reached for comment as he is sitting at a bar somewhere drunk out of his face and weeping.

print on canvas

I've availed the canvas print service several times and written about it already. I want to restate how impressed I am with this relatively new service industry. It is brilliant and they have their act down to a tee. Impressive to the very last step, packaging and delivery. I purposefully chose slowest of all shipping options because they're so brilliant, I checked progress for four days through production and noticed the hour it shipped, then hours later the notification of shipment with tracking was provided with the package arriving by noon the next day. Today. Directly to my door.

A coffee-table size book is pulled out from a shelf and the 32"X48" print placed on top the book with bookcase as backdrop.

Klicken Sie für große

The canvas is three bookshelves tall. The dimensions are important because they fit the aspect ratio of the Nikon so nothing is lost to cropping to fit the sizes of canvas that Photobucket offers at this width.

Sometimes cropping for a different shape rectangle would work to advantage, for example the dinosaur footprints a sign at the edge is eliminated, but it wouldn't work so well here.

The dimensions for the raw files are 4288 X 2848, a 3:2 ratio. This ratio in this width is not common among the various print on canvass outfits online that I looked through. I've tried only two, one offered through Flickr and this through Photobucket. For me, Photosbucket is the best choice but only when they are running a significant sale. Otherwise their prices are not competitive with other places more popular. When Photobucket has a sale, nearly always such as right now at 70% off, then they beat all the rest. Without the significant reduction then they come in last for pricing.

All other places offer reduced pricing too, except for a few. Each place I checked pretty much offers 30% to 50% off the order I would place were I to pursue it through them. That time.

I learned also they print on real canvas, apparently, they all keep saying so. I was wrong about it being paper that looks like canvas. I think. The most popular site discusses their quality canvas and criticizes the cheap imported Chinese canvas that other companies use.

I'm still skeptical about industry terms ever since uncovering at length the term "steam cleaning" carpets involves no steam, merely water hot as one's tap will go. It's a thing with them, they fudge ordinary terms to fake us out. It could be the same thing here with canvas. Paper made of real cotton cloth just as canvas is but still paper, a new photographic product allowing large industrial rolls that exists in the space between canvas and paper that industry decides to call canvas. I still don't know for sure what they're printing on but it is not the same stretched tarp stuff that I smear with gesso then paint on. It's some new material fascinatingly industrial.

The process cannot be made more simple. It is not possible for the price to be lower. I am amazed. It must be industrial and rely upon sheer volume. The whole thing, from uploading and adjusting photos, selecting from offerings, arranging the order, processing payment, production, materials, skill, packaging, delivery is truly impressive. The low cost of print to canvas service opens worlds of possibilities.

Serving in the military doesn’t make you a hero. That term is used far too often, in my opinion.

I am an atheist, and I say "merry christmas". It's not an affirmation of faith, just a fancy way of saying hello 3weeks out of the year. If someone was offended I would say happy holidays/happy new year to them specifically, but I don't find the phrase out of context offensive.
Both theists and atheists have expressed their dislike for me for having this differing opinion. To me it's like hating someone for not being a vegetarian, you can't help it if you don't find something offensive.

The only reason Doctor Who is still going is because the studio was smart enough to change their product from pandering to nerdy middle aged men to having a younger hip cast that appeals to teenage girls.
In fact that works for every nerdy product including super hero movies. As long as they have lots of hot man chest they will do well.

We're making the world too controlled and safe. Especially for kids. Like yeah do what you can to make sure they don't die, but they need a bit of a rough and tumble every now and then.
Reddit will probably agree with me, so I guess the people who would get angry at me are the overprotective parents. There's a way to put boundaries on a kid that doesn't stifle them. Let the kid do what he wants. Let them climb up that tree, let them play some full contact sport. Let them FUCKING lose a game, less of this "we don't count the score" bullshit. You know what kids hate more than losing? Being made to feel like little kids. I'd rather lose after trying than have some bullshit rule that just makes me feel like I'm being patronised.
"Oh don't worry John, they might have scored 3 more goals than you but we're all winners!"
No. John is the fucking loser. Let him cry if he's a little bitch about losing. Let him realise that his little world doesn't bend to his whim. Because it sure as fuck doesn't bend to him in the real world.
I'm just sick of seeing kids being mollycoddled. They cry over nothing and then grow up to be entitled little bastards. Like Jesus Christ John, its not your fault that you're broke. No way, all you do is laze about all day and complain there's no jobs. It's definitely everyone else's fault because you're a perfect little princess.
Fuck you John.

"SF Lamp Post, Corroded by Urine, Nearly Kills Motorist"

"Concerns about San Francisco’s decaying light poles were ignited Monday night after one corroded by urine toppled onto a car, narrowly missing the driver."
The three-story-tall lamp post at Pine and Taylor streets snapped around 6:30 Monday and landed on a nearby car, almost crushing the driver. No one was injured.

A perfect storm of conditions rusted out the base of the pole, San Francisco Public Utilities Commission officials say, and caused it to fall. At the time, the lamp post, which was already old, was damaged by urine and weighed down by an oversized banner.

“We believe there was some contribution of dog or human urine on the base of the pole,” PUC spokesman Tyrone Jue said. “It has actually been an issue for us in the past. We encourage people and dogs alike to do their business in other places, like a proper restroom or one of our fire hydrants, which are stronger and made out of cast iron.”

Urine accelerates the corrosion of the metal base of street poles, he said.

"Chuck Schumer Opposes Iran Nuclear Deal"

Advocates on both sides have strong cases for their point of view that cannot simply be dismissed,” Mr. Schumer, Democrat of New York, said in a lengthy statement. “This has made evaluating the agreement a difficult and deliberate endeavor, and after deep study, careful thought and considerable soul-searching, I have decided I must oppose the agreement and will vote yes on a motion of disapproval.”
“There are some who believe that I can force my colleagues to vote my way,” Mr. Schumer said. “While I will certainly share my view and try to persuade them that the vote to disapprove is the right one, in my experience with matters of conscience and great consequence like this, each member ultimately comes to their own conclusion.”

Mr. Schumer said his chief concern was that Iran would still be free after a decade to build a nuclear bomb.
Schumer said that after 10 years "we will be worse off with this agreement than without it."

Ben Carson, the only candidate who has separated conjoined twins.

The only candidate to remove half a brain, and the only candidate to operate on baby still inside the womb. This is the best closing line of the evening including Ben Carson's response, "because I'm a neurosurgeon" to the question he mentioned about not speaking about racism so much about racism in America. What does that have to do with it? He sees what makes people themselves and it is not their skin or their hair.

All the candidates did well. Even Huckabee didn't sound like a religious crackpot, describing a candidate with the negative characteristics everyone is taking for Trump, "of course I am describing Hillary Clinton." Jeb Bush sounded competent and capable, listening to him you'd imagine Florida example of stability and not the meth lab we keep hearing it to be. Seems to me all the candidates save for Chris Cristie came across very well. Clear winner: Carly Fiorina who wasn't even in it. She out-shined in the earlier happy hour debate for the outlier candidates ahead of Perry and ahead of Jindal by a very broad margin. It appears Trunp forfeited some of his shine. His supporters are reporting changing their minds after seeing Trump in line with the others.

The three FOX moderators did well too.

It's a dirty job.....but someone has to do it.

I haven't been posting the last few days because I was busy at the CURVE Lingerie show at the Javits center in NYC. We go twice a year to buy lingerie for the store. Currently we are shopping for spring of 2016. You have to be ahead of the game and get whats on trend for the next season.

The way it works is you walk up to the booth and sit down and they give you line sheets with all of there products. Then they take the bras and panties and robes and what not off of the rack to show you the fabric and the style. If you want to see what it looks like on a person they have a couple of models who put it on and let you check it out.

It is not as much fun as you might think it is. It is actually tough because you have to make a lot of decisions in a very short period of time. You can make a lot of mistakes that are going to cost you a lot of money.

But it does have some compensations. One of our vendors Trumiph invited us to a cocktail party and fashion show:

They had a fashion show of the new items for spring with a concentration on the Amourette collection. Now this was a real industry show. The beautiful people were not in the front row.  No actors or actresses or Real Housewives. Just the actual buyers who are not beautiful people. But at least you got to see a bunch of models in their underwear.

These are the jobs that Americans will still do. So there were no Mexicans. Just sayn'

vines

These haven't bloomed yet so there is nothing glorious in the morning other than vines that grew noticeably overnight, and that is something to observe. They grow upward so when there is nothing to cling to or to wrap around they wave around until touching anything unsteady even another vine waving around, and I like that. Three types of the same thing were distributed around different pots to see what happens. Two mature clematis bushes died from some distress, possibly flooding, and hundreds of theses three types of morning glories from seeds failed. Survivors took over satisfactorily. If they bloom their flowers will be blue and white stripe with another type cardinal red. Intended for hummingbirds in Fall. It is an experiment.

Politico unamed sources: Jeb attacks Trump

"Like everyone else, Bush soon found Trump impossible to ignore. When Trump reposted a nasty tweet a couple of weeks after his contentious announcement speech— “Bush has to like Mexican illegals because of his wife”—the former Florida governor was forced to respond. “You can love your Mexican-American wife,” he told one interviewer before telling another that Trump was “preying on people’s fears.”"
The half-dozen conservative senators and governors who had planned to run before Bush brought out his shock-and-awe fundraising campaign, had to laugh: They viewed Bush himself as an intruder, a political semi-retiree who sat on the sidelines for eight years while they fought Barack Obama. Now it was Bush’s turn to rage at an outsider.

“Seriously, what’s this guy’s problem?” he asked one party donor he ran into recently, according to accounts provided by several sources close to Bush—and he went on to describe the publicity-seeking real estate developer now surging in public polls far ahead of Bush and all the 15 others in the Republican field as “a buffoon,” “clown” and “asshole.”
Will Jeb apologize to Trump tonight?

Rush believes this leak to politico maybe an attempt to bait Trump to loose his cool at the debate.

"Obama: Killing to Harvest Body Parts Is a ‘Foolish Tradition’- in Africa"

"At the Young African Leaders Initiative summit in Washington D.C., President Obama was asked about the killing of Albinos in Africa and the harvesting of their body parts for ritual purposes."
“Persons with Albinism in Africa are being killed and their body parts harvested for ritual purposes,” a woman in the audience said. “My request to you is to raise this issue with heads of state of African countries to bring these atrocities to an end.”
Obama condemned the practice as “foolish traditions.”

“When I was in Africa, I said, there are important traditions and folkways that need to be respected that’s part of who each culture is -- each country is -- but there’s also foolish traditions and old ways of doing business,” Obama said.

The president focused on the issue as one of discrimination.

“The notion that any African would discriminate against somebody because of the color of their skin, after what black people around the world have gone through - is crazy.”

Godzilla

Turns out to be theme song to original Godzilla. It is surprisingly good for what I took to be a silly monster sci-fi movie. The whole song shows this picture.

Oh? It's forty minutes. It says 1954. Now that I'm listening it sounds metal and electronic noise. Microphone on the shopping cart for specifically grating sound of newly heard monstrous roar not quite metallic, not quite organic, leitmotif footprints turned into music, anxiety turned into sound. Western instruments and western styling, low as bass horns go with piano forte banging.

I'm convinced.

Small matter, 1954 is 61 years ago, not 70.

Perry out, Kasich in

video

"Debate" is the same as argument but not the same as argue. Either will work. If this one above then you'll want to suggest a panel debating issues, not a single person stating their case.

video

This is an argument between two people or two sides. Again, you can provide a panel of people.

That is the central idea, a debate, but what kind? "President" is among the oddest of all signs, among my least favorite. Both arms must lift up to the top of the head and make an exaggerated motion just for that one little not so important word and the sign has hardly any relevance.

video

The sign depicts the horns of a long-horned bull. Of all presidents to go to for a signal to depict an American president for some reason Theodore Roosevelt was chosen. Nobody knows why. This sign is for him. Bully! That is what this sign means. It took years for me to understand this. The explanation is not in any of my texts. Three separate college-level teachers told me the sign has to do with a scroll. The sign never did make sense to me, I never did know what I was trying to do until it was understood as a bull. It is not the sign for bull. Bull sign is more reasonable than this, the "telephone" sign for bull horns, two of them if you must otherwise one will do for the word "bull" but "president" needs this weirdly exaggerated bull.

"Candidate" is the same as "volunteer."

video

"Republican" is a waving "R," conversely "Democrat" is a waving "D," and "used" is a waving "U" while a waving "i" is "insurance" and "Independent' is the same as breaking free of the chains that bind you, sometimes done with two  "i."

video

Primary is another favorite sign. You can stop a finger short for secondary and tertiary as with levels of education, freshman, sophomore, junior, senior. Prime, primal. fundamental, first pick among others, top choice, prime steak, priority.

video

"Fox" is an F twisted around the nose. Sometimes this is seen as "fool." Another "fox" is two fingers and thumbs pulling out the pointed muzzle of a fox. Technically, the network would be spelled FOX.

video

"Announce" is the same sign as "success."

video

Lineup is depicted with fingers representing people, one of my favorite signs. And quite versatile. The idea here is elaborated dozens of ways. Anywhere lines of people form, however long the line, however it wends can be depicted graphically and the sign puts the person right in the action.

video

Whereas "line up" as in arrange in their place is a different idea with different emphasis on being ordered as ducks in a row.

video

And the simple word "line" is another favorite sign, too useful to catalog, the line can be any kind of line whatsoever. When used to describe being pulled over by a policeman there can be no question about the meaning of a "gore" and the placement of solid and dotted white painted road lines. In English I cannot see what the cop is talking about, but this sign is too graphic to confuse. It is literally drawing a picture (in air).

video

"Best" is a full swipe across the mouth ending with a "thumbs up" approval accompanied with bright and delighted eyes and cheerful expression.

video

"Sound" is a tap to the ear.

video

"Shut up" is a mouth-shut zipping motion.

video

There you have it: Debate president candidate Republican primary FOX announce lineup best muted.  *ding*  Clear as a bell.

Featuring Donald Trump, the lineup excludes important candidate Perry while including insignificant late coming candidate Kasich.

Trump
Bush
Walker
Huckabee

Washington Post: Trump's appeal trumps education

"Trump's support is strongest with Republicans in the Midwest, conservatives across the country who do not have a college degree and (perhaps not surprisingly) those who report the most negative views of immigration and Mexican immigrants in particular, according to a Washington Post-ABC News poll released last week."

To be clear, the poll found that 60 percent of all Americans support the idea of offering undocumented immigrants currently in the United States some form of legal status, and 57 percent told pollsters they believe that immigrants strengthen the country. But there are plenty of people who see things differently. And those people appear to be concentrated among whites, Republicans and those with lower levels of education.
It takes a lot of education to explain away the country's direction.

Chelsea is the closest thing America has to a princess.

The single most interesting thing about Chelsea Clinton is she allows us to make fun of her and  her family and also her absurd party and their drooling admirers. A Washington Post writer, Jessica Contrera -- how's that for an agreeable handle? -- dribbles on as misguided fan girl wrong throughout so aggressively stupidly that she is impossible to read. You cannot do it. You cannot ingest each paragraph completely, as you're trained to do as if to pass a short test. It starts out with a correction that nobody could possibly care about and proceeds to interpretation that leaves more out than its glossy surface sheen could even suggest to contain.
Chelsea was astonished, her friends say, by the fervor of the world’s curiosity.
About when this daughter of this family is going to disappear, yes, we are curious about that.
She isn’t quite a celebrity.
But not for long if birdbrains like you can help it.
Or a philanthropist.

Or a politician,
Yes, she is politician, Stupid. And has been for years. Decades. But you haven't seen it. I know a decade ago she's been in Democrat homes in Denver. I know mother and daughter traveled around continuously to households that would host parties specifically to hear the the two speak. It's a thing. Was a thing. Households that liked to think they're doing something meaningful and doing something right. Lawyer types. Households that are willing to pay and to support them, willing to host a cocktail party around their esteemed presence, households that are flatly wrong. All that of course before such meetings cost upward of a quarter million dollars and with specific enumerated rock star demands. The attraction is power, a desire to be part of power building, as the two have nothing interesting or useful to say. And neither does the Washington Post writer covering them.
though let’s not rule that out. Now serving as vice chair of her family’s foundation, she has reinvented herself as a champion of uncontroversial causes,
Herself and her family first always, their party secondly, these uncontroversial causes Jessica writes of a far distant sixth or eighth or tenth or so behind friends, tools such as Jessica, travel, lobbying, accouterments, jewelry fashion, homes, apartments, vehicles, shoes with red soles, speeches of averring she cannot possibly care about money, she just cannot, it's not in her apparently to care about money, payments for services, and double and triple salaries for associates and much more.
her life an endless string of grand entrances, polite speeches, photo-ops — after which she retreats to her eight-figure Manhattan condominium, expecting the media and the public to preserve the boundaries she has cherished since childhood.
Louise Woodward, the British au pair that was convicted of killing the American baby  in Massachusetts put on a good Lady Di act too (conviction appealed, reduced to time served). It went over very well in England and among American Democrats. But even my Belgian sheepdogs can make turns and take stiff stylish sphinx postures and sit with their paws crossed like a princess and just sit there with their dog-muzzles shut and have their  beauty admired. It's not so hard being vacant and vapid as a Howdy Doody puppet propped up on a chair without Bob Smith's arm up its backside. You simply pretend that you're posh and with people throwing money at you for your family's influence in American government, it not at all hard to act posh especially around imbeciles like Jessica Contrera stricken with ideas of royalty that is not just simplistically contrary but actually antithetical to American thought. My impulse is shake Jessica Contrera like Louise Woodward shook Matthew Eappen.

The best part of Jessica Contrera's article at the Washington Post are the comments that pretty much all tell her she's full of stink.

"Obama: If Congress kills Iran deal, rockets will fall on Tel Aviv"

"If Congress succeeds in killing the deal and Iran were to subsequently walk away from the agreement and start enriching uranium again to weapons-grade levels, the opponents of the deal will pressure the US government into launching a preemptive strike against the Islamic Republic’s nuclear facilities, the president was said to have argued."
“But the result of such a strike won’t be war with Iran,” Rosenbaum said, quoting the president.

Iran is not going to launch a full-fledged assault on America, knowing that its military, with an annual budget of $15 billion, stands no chance against the US Army and its budget of close to $600 billion, the president said. Rather, Iran’s terrorist proxies will attack American and Israeli targets, for instance by ramming aircraft carriers or arming terrorist groups along Israel’s borders.

“They will fight this asymmetrically. That means more support for terrorism, more Hezbollah rockets falling on Tel Aviv,” Rosenbaum quoted Obama as saying. “I can assure that Israel will bear the brunt of the asymmetrical response that Iran will have to a military strike on its nuclear facilities.”
How does Obama know how Iran will respond to an attack on it's nuclear facilities?

Hillary Clinton's email server continues to pop up in the news

"The FBI has begun looking into the security of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s private e-mail setup, contacting in the past week a Denver-based technology firm that helped manage the unusual system, according to two government officials."
Also last week, the FBI contacted Clinton’s lawyer, David Kendall, with questions about the security of a thumb drive in his possession that contains copies of work e-mails Clinton sent during her time as secretary of state...

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa) wrote a letter to FBI Director James B. Comey on July 24 asking him what steps his office had taken to ensure that classified information held on Kendall’s thumb drive, and once kept on Clinton’s server, was being properly secured. A State Department official said that once the agency identified classified material in the e-mails in May, it instructed Clinton’s lawyers on “appropriate measures for physically securing” the e-mails.
There was nothing particularly new in this article, other than what the polls continually show. Hillary has a trustworthy and transparency problem.

Lenny Kravitz lets it all hang out

On stage. His pants look to be leather and riveted or buttoned down the outside of the legs and open where the legs connect underneath. With his mouth wide open and his tongue flapping out like Miley Cyrus, Lenny Kravitz squats playing the guitar on his lap while underneath his pendant pendular penis is displaying to tremendous puerile interest. Apparently his pants ripped.

This and other reactions here along with animated gifs that record the moment forever.

New undercover Planned Parenthood video discuss delivering fully intact fetuses

Link video

"In the nearly 16-minute, edited video, the fifth released by Center for Medical Progress, a woman identified as Melissa Farrell, director of research for Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, discusses pricing for specimens -- ranging from intact fetuses to tissue and organs -- for outside tissue procurement companies."
“Yeah, and so if we alter our process, and we are able to obtain intact fetal cadavers, then we can make it part of the budget, that any dissections are this, and splitting the specimens into different shipments is this,” Farrell said. “I mean it’s all just a matter of line items.”

Altering abortion procedures to procure fetal tissue, delivering intact fetuses and selling fetal tissue for profit are all against federal law.

America's National Parks

Pop-up book by Don Compton, illustrated by Dave Ember, mechanisms by Bruce Foster.

The video is best muted. Sound makes it much worse. I have strong mixed feelings about this video and about this pop-up book. I had the book first, for a long time since it came out, and the video only just now. I wish they would knock it off with the "this land is your land" b.s. and state the truth, this land is their land and our visits support their barony over which they rule as their own private property and we are kept out at the drop of a dime while they reserve large portions, the best portions, for their own exclusive use. If you don't believe me, join them, you'll become one yourself instantly and enjoy these property related benefits for yourself. It's all very Communist-minded and so is the pop-up book and so is this video and so is the song they selected to represent their work. So then mute.

The artwork is like the postcards from Wyoming paint-by-number look with rigid unblended shadowing vectored line illustrations. Vector drawing is lines made by points, curves mathematically calculated between points for images that are readily resized by computer.

Five of the six layouts rely on the same basic mechanical idea of a long broad background, a long flat V nearly flattened out entirely but sill a V and one that works to flip up and that defines the whole scene along with the two flat pages of the book, and that drag up with them attachments that fill out the scene. One after another this same idea of panoramic broad V background. But what else can the collaboration do to put viewers into the scene? The exact same thing occurs with another excellent book with different artwork Birdscapes, very well researched and with stereo audio sound to help identify the birds. Educational for people interested in birds for matching sight to sound.  But a disappointment nonetheless for pop-up enthusiast used to likes of pop-up engineers   Sabuda and of Reinhart who would have racked their brains to avoid repeating structural mechanisms like this. While like those two innovators they do manage extra pop-up mechanisms of card size inserted as tiny books in the areas left blank by the predominant mechanism and scenery, and contrary to those two innovators by including tiny booklets that fill blank spaces that are loaded with text and not loaded with pop-ups that would tell the story or suggest what the text does.

The thing about pop-ups is you needn't explain everything.

If Muir is so important to America's National Parks then he deserves his own pop-up page, not some blurb about him. I object to all the non-pop uppery that forces me to read.

All those words all over the place, even some double pages with no pop-up at all, just words and regular silk-screens of photos, and reading through my postulate about their barony impulses is confirmed as I got farther and farther in descriptions of national parks that are not displayed in pop-up form, so much valuable real estate held in their custody, park after park, Death Valley, Channel Islands Crater Lake, fifty-eight national parks before any mention of a single state. Finally Ohio. Finally Washington. You'd have no idea from the book even with a splendid pop up that shows it, the Everglades is in Florida, or that Smokey Mountain National Park borders Tennessee and N. Carolina, You can look and read all you like and not learn from this book that Grand Canyon National Park is in Arizona although you will know it has something to do with Colorado River. You will learn from text accompanying a dioramic pop-up that the world's first national park is Yellowstone but the book will not tell you the park is in the state of Wyoming. And so on, Glacier National park belongs to the Park Service, belongs to you and me, and we can see the goat right there in the middle on the continental divide and we see the unique bus that take people around if you can only find out for yourself somewhere else and not from this book that first you must go to the sovereign state of Montana. They manage to say so much by what they achingly omit. The book and this video advertise their own attitude that they maintain toward this land they insist in song is made for you and me.

The book is worth it. Recommended.

Several offers on Amazon. They offer the best deal, even better than Abebooks, and it's not that great a deal. Still expensive for a pop-up book. The used books are treated as collectables. One place is asking $70.00. Al the rest about $30.00.

I like my copy. Although I didn't learn any pop-up techniques and I didn't learn anything useful about national parks, it's still nice to have, not everyone feels so sour as I, and children will like this book too.
