"Iraqis think the U.S. is in cahoots with the Islamic State, and it is hurting the war"

"On the front lines of the battle against the Islamic State, suspicion of the United States runs deep. Iraqi fighters say they have all seen the videos purportedly showing U.S. helicopters airdropping weapons to the militants, and many claim they have friends and relatives who have witnessed similar instances of collusion."
Ordinary people also have seen the videos, heard the stories and reached the same conclusion — one that might seem absurd to Americans but is widely believed among Iraqis — that the United States is supporting the Islamic State...
“It is not in doubt,” said Mustafa Saadi, who says his friend saw U.S. helicopters delivering bottled water to Islamic State positions. He is a commander in one of the Shiite militias that last month helped push the militants out of the oil refinery near Baiji in northern Iraq alongside the Iraqi army...
U.S. military officials say the charges are too far-fetched to merit a response. “It’s beyond ridiculous,” said Col. Steve Warren, the military’s Baghdad-based spokesman. “There’s clearly no one in the West who buys it, but unfortunately, this is something that a segment of the Iraqi population believes.” (read more)

The Iraqis could be witnessing Obama's ineptitude. Not a difficult leap to assume Obama hearts ISIS. The entire collective left refuse to say "radical Islamist". Cooties! Get the memo?

Though - I did hear the poopy-pants Media say "Islamic Militant" yesterday. I was floored. At least the poopy-pants media didn't say "radical". *whew - that was close*

Ridiculous, you Iraqis. To this day, the democrats and the hack press insist it was a spontaneous eruption due to a video. Why on earth would you think the US lies?

Dear Col. Steve Warren, the military’s Baghdad-based spokesman --

They are talking about the Commander in Chief, and you.

Hey, did anyone catch the picture of Putin with a death grip on Obama's elbow while they were supposedly shaking hands for the camera? Must have been hell for Putin, who has a couple of high degree belts in martial arts, to control himself. But he did, dammit.

I saw that Putin accused Endrogen of purchasing ISIS oil, and in this, I'm inclined to believe Putin.

I also think it is entirely possible that USAID is going to ISIS. It happened in Somalia too. When you just send in aid, and don't secure it as well for those who really need it, then those with weapons will procure it. No surprise really, including the part where Progressives claim this strategy is the most humanitarian thing to do.

Regrettably, I agree with Leland...we are entirely too careless with our aid. And sometimes it is intentional as if you can "buy" peace. Anyone who has been to war knows what "humanitarianism" isn't. And that "peace" cannot be "bought."

ricpic ... so you wanted to see a nice body slam to the floor. Me too. :-))

In this case it's not ineptitude on O'Bummer's part, not to say he isn't inept. Him having actually thrown in with ISIS is not inconsistent with the available objective evidence.

Lessee, the Choom Gang and the Whigs are on the side of IS in Syria.

Nope, can't figure out why the Iraqis wouldn't trust Little Pissy.

Well, i told you so. If you look at my posts from a couple of weeks back, I said the same thing. The only solution is a scorched earth solution.

Aridog said...

Methadras ... regrettably, I am turning toward the scorched earth idea as well...a "Lake ISIS" would appeal to me. I've seen what the old "Arc Light" strikes can do and about now I'd favor hundreds of them over ISIS territory. Problem: What would follow ISIS in the void?

I don't favor "collateral damage" of civilians, however, when the civilians are used as resources, there really is no choice. The "natives" either stop the crazies or others must. I've seen the results when that doesn't happen.

We are living in an insane world now. I don't even like myself for my attitude today. No one on earth is in danger from me...can't say that for everyone else. I have no answer...other than "scorched earth."
