Bill Cosby Sues Accusers

"You Assassinated My Character"
Bill Cosby has aggressively lashed out at 7 of his sexual assault accusers, claiming they went on a malicious campaign to ruin him with lies and thwart his TV comeback.
Cosby just countersued the women, claiming they have made "malicious, opportunistic, false and defamatory accusations of sexual misconduct against him."
The comedian is claiming emotional distress against Tamara Green, Therese Serignese, Linda Traitz, Louisa Moritz, Barbara Bowman, Joan Tarshis and Angela Leslie ... claiming the allegations of drugging and then sexually assaulting them is flatly untrue.
Cosby claims the motivation of the women was to torpedo his television return.

Isn't that sort of a tacit admission that he raped the other 25 or so? And then, he's going to have a tough time showing his "character" was disparaged.

This lawsuit is coming a bit late to be believable.

Of course these women were opportunistic. Who isn't?

OT - Did anyone read about the results of Trump's latest physical? Fantastic numbers: 110/65. Takes an aspirin a day, didn't say but I assume a baby aspirin. I should start doing that. Also a low dose statin. I think I'll pass on that.

If you start the aspirin take it religiously. Suddenly stopping can thicken your blood, leading to bad stuff. In any event, Ask Doc First.

At any event, Cosby will die rich and free. He is one of the most successful serial rapists of all time. Jimmy Saville, the British BBC personality, was the most successful. His count ran into the hundreds, and he wasn't even accused until after his death......Still there was a higher degree of difficulty in Cosby's rapes. He had a thing for unconscious women. How many women can you drug before one has an adverse reaction and chokes on her vomit or something. Cosby has led a truly blessed life.

You know what? He has been truly lucky.

D, the claims came a bit late to be believable. And the fact that there are a large number of them indicates merely that more than one shark smelled blood in the water.

I'm for Cosby on this one. Neither side is credible, but the claimants are the ones with the burden of proof (though Cosby has the burden on the counter-claims he has brought which is probably why he selected out only the worst of the claims). I think he probably did it, but what pisses me off much, much more is that the media that kept this information under wraps for political/corporate reasons now feels free to release it into the wild and create a media frenzy over it. The controlled outrage is unacceptable. Die, media whores.

He's going to win. Know why, because they accused him of doing something without facts or evidence, but simply to defame him in the public. That is problematic for them on two fronts, one, they will have to produce evidence that they have not defamed him (which they have clearly done) and two, they will have to prove that their claims against him are true and will have to present evidence of his sexual assaults. If they can't do either they are fucked and he knows this. Not to mention that their lawyer bills will cost them plenty and he's banking on that as well for them to either settle and get them to rescind their claims in public with full apologetics or else.

I agree with Meth.

Good for him!

Make 'em prove it in court. Make 'em stand under cross-examination. Make 'em show some proof beyond their unsupported charges.

I recognize one of those names and Louisa Moritz was nobody to turn heads (stomachs OTOH...).

This happened because he was speaking to black audiences and telling them they need to take responsibility for their actions, their families, their lives, and their communities. He had to be destroyed, so they went after him the way they went after Clarence Thomas and Herman Cain.

Hardly.

It's an admission he had sex with them. Consensual sex.

He did?

According to him, he made a pass, they said, "OK, if you score me some drugs". It's on them.

I hope they have more than a blue dress stained with his semen.

I don't know if he's going to win. The media has saturated the market with the presumption of guilt. That's going to be tough to overcome, even with the BOP on the plaintiffs. He's fighting, though, and I like a fighter on general principles. And this is a clever move. Also, I hate the presumption that women are too fragile to bring an accusation of sexual assault, just because the assault is sexual. Like in this age of slutwalks and snowflake feminist semantic demands the fact that the assault was sexual is a matter of shame. That is anti-feminist and contrary to the best interests of women generally. The cops sometimes do protect the powerful and Cosby is rich and (was) powerful. It goes on today. There are sleazeballs in Hollywood right now sexually assaulting underage kids. It's been going on for decades and nobody goes to prison. Still, that should not stop you from making a report, a claim, anything, to create an official record of the assault. No popping up decades later when the social tide turns against the assailant and there's money to be made.

Amartel, you know how he's going to win? His lawyers opening remarks to the jury pretty much telling them that the defendants need to prove the things I just said, that they should ignore what these defendants put out in the media and the media repeated it to defame his client, but that the defendants themselves do not have any evidence that his client did any such thing or acted inappropriately. He's never been charged, he's never spoken about it, he's never sought restitution for the defamatory statements until today. That even though the media can callously besmirch his name using the unfounded accusations of multiple people who have waited decades to say something because they smelled blood in the water to gang up on my client because he's popular, he's famous, and most of all because he's rich.
