I can't be a cop. If I was, and I was in this situation, all you would have heard was gun fire.

There was a rather nice moment in Jackie Brown when a lady was needling a somewhat dumber member of the gang and generally not cooperating and he shot her.

I remember that. I was not surprised when it happened.

Too much tolerance eventually leads to harsh rule as the sane citizen cannot take anymore of this shit.

The few bad apples can ruin it for a lot of other people.

Next time I drive through Imperial County I would consider it an honor to get pulled over by that deputy sheriff. I may even speed.

OTOH, could this be a put on? A training video?

Wow.

This teaches us free citizens of the erf, unowned by corporations and not born into slavery to not bother with videotaping and just shoot when the power mad uniformed one who cannot be reasoned with first shows his face then drive away.

You cannot say to her, "You want more government, you got it" because she most likely does not want it, or even vote at all. But this happened in a car on highways, not the Alaska wilderness, so she's agreeing to enjoy a host's comforts while behaving as if she can just rider her little pony across the whole nation state by state tossing her cigarette butts as she goes.

Government is agreed upon legalized violence, the force we choose to apply to one another the degree a matter of modulation but it is still nothing less than pure violence.

You see the historic things on tv about the goons that set up on a river and impose a tax on anyone passing by. Rivers being very important. Rivers being the means of commercial transport. Basically pirates taking claim to a portion of river and defending it with extreme violence. Pay, or else. Building fortresses to protect their means of theft, impressive structures that become grand castles over time and by accumulated wealth with dungeons and everything. Tremendous wealth built up by this sort of taxation. That is what government is and that is what government does. Every phone call you make has government bureaucrat tremendously interested in the length of your calls and the number of your calls so they can have their portion, the portion they staked out on your river. They are thieves with a thousand means to shake down everything that moves or breathes within sight. It enough to drive a person to declare themselves citizen of the erf.

Really, though, is that your real voice?

Great movie. Yeah, that was when Melanie (Brigette Fonda, who was so freaking hot in this movie) is busting Louis (Robert DeNiro's Character) balls about which way to get out of the store/shopping mall and he can't find his car and then she's busting his balls even more about being a shitty bank robber who couldn't find his car. I'm going to have to watch this movie again.

Because that's the kind of malarkey people in California might say, "setting-up" a confrontation w/the cops takes a hell of a lot of balls, idiocy, disregard for one's safety, and even if you wanted to make a "cause" out of showcasing REAL police brutality, there are tons of videos already circulating far and wide that do (at least in some cases) just that. And finally, she sounds like she's tinier than Natalie Portman. It's just not the kind of thing a woman would do, let alone one that pixie.

The only way it was a "set-up" was if she took some hallucinogens and/or amphetamines (likely considering his interest in her "bag") and let the chemistry do the talking. Which is actually probable, but not that I think she did that in a pre-meditated way.

You really don't know any, do you? Not a single one.

I think her bag had a helium balloon. OTOH, Squeaky is out on parole.

By setup I meant a training video.

The SC "movement" says to videotape police encounters, but it still seems too pat.

"Fee Inhabitant" = Nut Case. In a republic of laws you are not free to just do as you please...you must consider others who also contributed to those laws. This example is a cop who obviously doesn't want confrontation, but is forced in to one by a fool. Then we blame the cop? Please.

I'd have hooked up her car an towed it anyway with her in it, and over some rough rocky rutted roads if possible...but police cannot do that because it is against the law. Law is funny like that.

Even if we were still subject to the Articles of Confederation (as opposed to the divine Right of Kings or the laws of the British Parliament) the "free inhabitants" in Article IV were entitled to all privileges and immunities of free citizens in the several states; and the people of each state shall have free ingress and regress to and from any other state, and shall enjoy therein all the privileges of trade and commerce, subject to the same duties, impositions and restrictions as the inhabitants thereof respectively,

Article IV

Personally, I would have tasered her ass after the second time she mentioned the Articles of Confederation.
