"Oregon marijuana shops begin sales to recreational users"

"I'm just trying to basically stock up for maybe four or five times what the normal volume would be"
Some of the more than 250 dispensaries that already offer medical marijuana in Oregon opened their doors soon after midnight — just moments after it became legal to sell to anyone who is at least 21.
At Portland's Shango Premium Cannabis, co-founder Shane McKee said the first sale to an excited customer came about a minute after midnight, with many others waiting.
"It looks like there is about 60-70 in line out front," he said in a telephone interview shortly after midnight. "They all seem extremely eager."
Green Oasis, which has two locations in Portland and more on the way, has prepared by trying to cultivate strong relationships with growers. On Thursday evening, it will entice customers with a band playing outdoors. People who spend at least $40 on Thursday will get a 10 percent discount, co-owner Matthew Schwimmer said.
"We don't know of anyone else doing a band, and we thought it was a good idea to give back to the community," Schwimmer said.

Giving back to the community: With a band, on a weeknight, at midnight.

Now, I know you all are gonna say some version of "get off my lawn, you dirty hippies", but most people buying this pot, don't hurt anybody, or break any other laws. They probably just catch a buzz with some friends, talk, laugh, sing, and then go home and make crazy love to their lovers. Pot makes me insatiable. I actually become the crazed fiend guy in the "Reefer Madness" movie, but my girl says it's really cool.

That said, I still say "get off my lawn you filthy hippies, but you can leave the pot behind,... and your girlfriend too. You saw how she was looking at my vintage record collection. She's high, she's in love, and we all know what happens next. Let the spin begin.

Well, this was predicted. That medical MJ was going to be a pipeline to normalizing recreational use sales. There it is.

It's the sensible thing to do so pot smokers don't buy stuff cut with drugs they don't want.

I noticed it in Bailey first, a strange symbol among a metallic and board collage of signs with symbols, logos, monograms, crests, masonic lodge, pictures all layered as if decoration but advertising goods inside a Western boardwalk looking frame building with a broad covered porch. A white square with a fat green cross the simplest of all. Whatever could that be? It took two seconds.
oooooOOOOOoooooo.
