Just a mutual misunderstanding. They mistook him for a terrorist and he mistook them for intelligent adults.

I'm fucking telling you people that we are living in an idiocracy. It's the world of the stupid. Go watch the movie, go see how it so accurately reflects that idiocy we see today.

It's not obvious that it isn't one of those flying imam things. The thing is done for the reaction.

Building a clock is pretty trivial, depending on what you start with.

"I closed it with a cable so cuz I didn't want to lock it to make it seem like a threat so I used a simple cable so I won't look that much suspicious"

Not smart.

I came over here looking for this specifically. Sonny Bunch tweeted "Oh God. There’s going to be a clock bomb question tonight isn’t there." They're having a field day with it. Jessy Taylor puts words in Trump's mouth: "The clock wasn't that great. It was a rinky-dinky little clock. I have a lot of great clocks. Spectacular clocks." TexasFreedomNetwook says, "If you're wondering what the mayor of Irving has to say of this then here you go #IStandWithAhmed. Rhett Allain point to wired on how to make a homemade clock that isn't a bomb.

They're such cutups.

Building a great clock should start with dripping water.

Or perhaps sand.

Maybe something mechanical like a pendulum

Or perhaps the burning of a candle.

Maybe the flow of water if not dripping, like a water wheel.

A great clock will have numbers.

And maybe arms that point to numbers. And people dancing around to remind people it's time to dance. The clock should show people eating so they know when it's time to eat. And the clock should tell people when to poo.

An especially clever clock will tell people when to hoe, when to plant, when to water, when to harvest. When to celebrate and when to mourn.

An honest clock will remind you constantly the concept of time is entirely made up while the movement of celestial bodies and the passing of seasons to life are real. Instead of tempus fugit the clock will say tempus est non reale.

Go watch the movie

I had never seen the movie, so I purchased it last weekend. Great movie, except is too true.

On a side note, I watch Idiocracy a few days after watching Interstellar, and I was struck how both have a premise that mankind has destroyed the world, with dust storms, as no one knows how to grow crops anymore, and the only one trying to save the world is looking for a time machine rather than learning how to water crops.
