The request follows an assessment in a June 29 memo by the inspectors general for the State Department and the intelligence agencies that Mrs. Clinton’s private account contained “hundreds of potentially classified emails.” The memo was written to Patrick F. Kennedy, the under secretary of state for management...Are these poll driven? Are the Democrats panicking? I'm not defending Hillary, but, they could have opened an investigation when the revelations first came up.
The Justice Department has not decided if it will open an investigation, senior officials said. A spokesman for Mrs. Clinton’s campaign declined to comment.
At issue are thousands of pages of State Department emails from Mrs. Clinton’s private account. Mrs. Clinton has said she used the account because it was more convenient, but it also shielded her correspondence from congressional and Freedom of Information Act requests. (read more)

The Clintons, under Hillary's directive, are the mob.
Nothing will happen. Nothing worthy of indictment will occur.
If Trump goes independent and Hillary implodes we could have a real Horse Race on our hands with the winner only getting 35% of the vote. Maybe the Green Party, or the the Libertarians could win one.
I doubt Hillary will implode, Bags. It looks like it, but she is protected by very elite forces. Hillary must win because if she doesn't, she could face actual criminal charges with a new DOJ in place. The current DOJ is protecting her.
3rd party candidates only act as spoilers. I doubt this time it will be any different.
If all was well, you wouldn't see this happening. Somebody somewhere is getting antsy about what might be coming down the pike.
This could be a painless way to dump her if one of those revelations now in the hands of the Red Chinese were to come out.

The idea of The Donald is IMHO FUD from the Demos and the Whigs.
But remember, it's the electoral votes that count. Popular vote means nothing.

And her screwing around with her email may well have put a lot of those elite forces in peril because now their sensitive info is in the hands of Red China.
If there's a way to drop her, it will be found.
Big division in the heretofore lockstep Dem party between corporate/union cronies (Hillary) versus social justice gadfly cronies (Sanders, Warren, Not Hillary). Obviously, the NYT is in the Not Hillary column.
Hillary Clinton again lies to your face. If the IG found previously classified documents then she lied. They are NOT hard to identify. Hillary took ofice office in 2008, but since about 2004-5 all federal emails have the word "Classified" or "Unclssified" in the subject line inside brackets. Any she received would be so marked. Period. Those marked "classidied" have an encryption key that must be used to read. I get emails periodiically from the USG and they ALL have this classification annotation in the subject line...and since I no longer have a CAC Card or active clearance ( no "role" for it), I cannot read the classified portions of a message. And I do not need to do so.
What hacks me off about Clinton is that she presumes everyone is as stupid as she is...in this case evan a low ranking GS-04 knows better. I am only surprised it took an IG investiation to finally real the truth.
Obama has acted to curtail the IG authority as it exsisted previously. He's disrupting the process and wrecking the entire IG format. We are the losers. I do hope we can survive the next 1.4 years of this clown. Really. Not a certainty by any means.
