When diversity is "complex"

From an Ace of Spades post...

Many citizens of foreign countries will decry "American nationalism" as a passive-aggressive (and dishonest) way of expressing their own jingoistic nationalism.

"Anti-Americanism" is a culturally-approved safe harbor for expressing one's own (forbidden) jingoism.

When you hear a Frenchman screaming about how America thinks it's the best, but really it's not very good at all, who do you think he's implying really is the Best?

A Greek man thumping his chest at how jingoistic Americans are -- he's not saying "we're all equal." He's saying Greeks are superior. He's saying Americans are stupid for getting the question of "Who is Best?" wrong.

Likewise, many minorities now employ a constant, codified, ritualized attack on White People as their method of engaging in some bumptious, egotistical Racial Triumphalism.

And this becomes more obvious every single day.

Guys? If you think your own culture or race is the best, stop being dishonest, and just express your honest chauvanistic and/or racist feelings.

Stop using the nasty passive-aggressive subterfuge of always strongly, strongly implying that you are Superior to Whitey as your chickenshit method of proclaiming racial superiority.

Just come out and own your own ego-driven, hateful, backwards, ignorant cracker-ass racism, for god's sakes.

Just wait for the riots when all of the cops walk because they can't prove anything let alone murder.

It is going to make what happened in Baltimore look like a 4th of July parade.

They charged the driver of the van with murder.

I don't think they thought this thru.

"Diversity" is mistaken for "deservity"

I mean the latter as a sense of entitlement.

If Al Sharpton says they are guilty - they are guilty.

Wait until the crowd hears that there will be a change of venue, and that the case will be heard out of the city of Phily, and to a mostly white suburb.

Here'e the way I see it.

Freddie Grey is a skell with multiple arrests and a history of being an informer. He would sell out the other corner boys and get a little rhythm on his misdeeds. But he also had a history of acting out and trying to capitalize on false claims of injury. An all around pain in the ass.

Now when they pick up a dude who will drop a dime they like to make the arrest look "good" by bouncing him around so it doesn't look like he is going voluntarily to snitch out. Well this time Freddie was pretty high. He had marijuana and heroin in his bloodstream. So maybe he acted out a little too much and the cops didn't like it.

According to a couple of doctors quoted in places like Legal Insurrection these injuries don't sound consistent with being bounced around by a "rough ride." Is sounds much more likely that in one of the stops the van made that one of the cops tuned him up. Most likely the driver. A black guy. He proabally dealt with this mutt many times and decided that he wasn't going to put up with his bullshit. It just went really wrong.

Of course since the driver was a brother the States Attorney had to go after a bunch of cops to put some white faces in the mix. But as Legal Insurrection pointed out the spring loaded knife was illegal and since this mutt was on parole any concealed weapon violated him and means it is perfectly justified to put the bracelets on him.

So you have a drug addled victim acting out....a black cop who was disgusted and most likely ashamed of the vermin he swept each day....who like most black guys didn't take well to being disrespected.....and an incompetent politicized prosecutor.

This is a perfect storm right there.

I could spend the rest of the day on the internet and probably not find a better take on it than what Trooper just said.

A commenter at TOP left the following quote from Alan Dershowitz. Since Althouse seems to be in lockdown mode I'm pasting it here:

viator said...
"I understand why the mayor and state attorney want to prevent riots... but that's not the job of the justice system... You cannot allow police officers or any other defendants to become scapegoats for crowds demanding a continuation of rioting,".

"There's no plausible, hypothetical, conceivable case for murder under the facts that we now know them. You might say that conceivably there's a case for manslaughter. Nobody wanted this guy to die, nobody set out to kill him, and nobody intentionally murdered him.

"The worst-case scenario is a case for involuntary manslaughter or some kind of reckless disregard, but the idea of without further investigation coming down with murder indictments... This is a show trial. This is designed to please the crowd. It's designed to lower the temperature."

"It may have been the criteria in Rome, for Fidel Castro, in Iran, and in other countries, but in our country you don't base indictments on what impact it's going to have on the crowd."

"You base it on a hard, neutral, objective view of the evidence, and it doesn't look like that was done here... They have invited a mess. What they did is they bartered short-term results today for long-term problems in the future.

"My prediction? They've overplayed their hand, it's unlikely they'll get any convictions in this case as a result of this, and if they do, there's a good possibility it'll be reversed on appeal and will just postpone the riots for months ahead."

Alan Dershowitz, Felix Frankfurter Professor of Law, Harvard Law School, retired.

Dershie's right. What a fucking sham. You might as well prosecute the mayor! Ms. Pretty Lil Aww Shucks What Has I done?

This is exactly the kind of nonsense that will put an end to racial strife outright. How much more sympathy will white liberals/moderates have for people who blame racism for how incompetently certain black officials and henchmen lead and follow each other? It's a fantasy. You might as well blame ebola on racism. What nonsense!

Troop, turns out the knife was legal. Even still, eye contact and running from cops isn't probable cause though.

How does a town with a black mayor, black prosecutor, 64+% black population, and black police chief find it self in this mess? Stupidity is how...politics over ethics will do it every time. Just take a look at Detroit and Kwame Kilpatrick (now doing 28 in a federal slammer for corruption) to see how it is done. Time for the majority black population to elect sane people, not butt kissers. They will in time, but it may take decades like it did here in Detroit. The black community here and the investors now have made a difference....Baltimore is a long way from that result. Their current "band-aids" won't help much.

Aridog said...

Almost forget: What Trooper said is what I should have said. Good on 'em. Big city kids usually get it right.

Trooper York said...

But Meth if it is a concealed weapon doesn't it violate his parole?

It is reported that he is on parole but who knows with the way the media stacks the deck.

Trooper York said...

Well I researched on a real conservative site "The Village Voice."

The knife is what is called a gravity assited knife which can be opened with one hand with a spring.

As the article states this type of knife is specifically illegal in Baltimore. So the cops were perfectly justified in arresting someone who had an illegal concealed weapon upon his person.

Of course AL Sharpton, this DA and the rest of the mob feel that anything this skell might have on him was fine because you can not stop and frisk a black man....cause that's racist.

Trooper York said...

As the article states the cops can term this knife illegal. You might not like it. I might not like it.

But it is the law.

And the law is something they don't give a shit about in Baltimore.

Well at least skells like Freddy don't give a shit about.

Orrey G.Rantor said...

"But it is the law."

Its unconstitutional as it violates the 2nd amendment and I would never vote to convict anyone on it, concealed or not.

Its a bloody pocket knife and not even a "switchblade". Heck the design likely exists solely because switchblades or automatic knives have been banned in so many places.

Reminds me that I need to buy one before my state bans them outright. You can't even buy them across state lines due to Fed law.

Trooper York said...

Hey it is a means to an end. They have been outlawed for a long time. If you want them to be legal then get your local government to change the law.

The point of this discussion is that this was a legal arrest. The DA is lying. She is trying to railroad the white cops because otherwise she will only have black defendants. Can't have that now can we?

The case for homicide is extremely shaky. Right it now it looks like this:

1) Gray goes into the Van
2) Gray not secured by seat belt
3) ???
4) Gray injured
5) Driver should have recognized medical condition because ???
6) But he didn't so therefore
7) Homicide

Chip....Might be wrong, but I think you mean"skell."

Aridog said...

One thing I like about Detroit and most of the suburbs here...any knife with a blade longer than the officer's name tag is wide (3.5 inches) is illegal, period. The old Mexican (cheap) and Italian (expensive) true switchblades (spring activated push button only openers) are a thing of the past ....like my youth in the 50's & early 60's. I haven't seen one in decades now. The "butterfly" Filipino knives became the alternative .... and thus the blade length limit to eliminate the confusion, however opened.

As for CPL licenses, if you have one you are required to notify any officer immediately upon any stop...and that's anywhere in the state. It's for his/her protection as much as yours.

Being civilized isn't hard.
