One more Pizza Pie Post Please

Remember the fundraiser Chip posted about earlier, its over 3/4 of a million dollars by the way. And it's got some people really ticked off. Among them, an Alix Bryan, who works for a local news station says she "reported" (to the authorities?) the fund for fraud "just in case". (see tweet above)

"Just in case", isn't that the crux of the Memories Pizza witch-hunt. Nothing like what the Social Justice Warriors are claiming the RFRA law will do has even happened yet. But they are out to intimidate and disrupt peoples livelihood, on the slim chance someone may discriminate, "just in case".

Public accommodation for me, but not for thee. It's a two way street in this country and thank the lord for that this good Friday. and thanks for reading this rant.

Prediction: This will prompt a statement from the gofund people stating that the money will in fact go to the Pizzeria. A subsequent backlash against the CBS's bigot will fuel even more donations.

And yes, CBS needs to be called out for allowing their affiliate to provoke this.

Oh and I can't quite tell the gender of "Alix"...he/she definitely has that "Pat" thing going.

CBS puts the BS in CBS BS.

The CBS station claims the twit was on the reporters personal account, yet they advertise the reporters personal account in their news program. I hope someone sues for libel.

If you work for a news organization, you should use your words more carefully.

If you aren't sure, ask Brian Williams... he'll tell you.

Donated to the fund. I'm tired of these bigots. First there is Tim "I'll sell to Gay hanging Muslims in the Middle East, but not to anyone respecting religion in Indiana, Cook. Now, we have a J-School reporter claiming fraud without researching, when called on it, claims research after the fact, when she never contacted the people running the charity; and this after a previous reporter slandered a lady who stated the obvious.

There is no reason to cater a wedding from a pizza place. If you want to cater your wedding with pizza; then do like everyone else who caters any event with pizza: buy a few pies to go. It's that simple. You don't need a person to leave their pizza store to serve you a slice of pizza, whether your gay, straight, or haven't figured out how to pay for the surgery without first committing a crime.

You would think some political animals could follow the money and put two and two together to figure out why they do so poorly at fundraising.

An employee at a news station did this?

Hack.

Gee, it's as if the individuals who want so desperately to belong to one side don't want to trust the individuals who want so desperately to belong to the other side.

Didn't see that coming . . .

How can the totalitarian neo- fascists find a way to steal the money?

That's the big question.

The gofundme site is now closed at $842,387. I wish he had let it hit a million just to make a point.

Chip Ahoy said...

Closed?

Goddamnit.

That was fun watching. I meant to say, "Thank you, Jesus, for letting me see this. In your name. Amen."

Phew. That was close.

For you see, I am a God-fearing person and I know I'm on borrowed time and I thank God for the borrowed time too.

Now, they have almost a million dollars. People gave them no end of grief and people gave them outstanding support.

I saw the woman on teevee and she was devastated. Loess, or whoever that FOX contributor is, gave her time to respond and the woman just sat there as valuable seconds ticked by unable to speak. Finally, at aching length, "I am but a simple cavewoman and your modern ways are strange and frightening to me and all so overwhelming."

And we all go, "Awwwwww. Bless."

Know what the odd thing is The government that harassed her, governors issuing ridiculous and emotional unconstitutional travel ban to their state among other harassing voices within government, gets half their donations.

Like it's not even real money.

And yet it IS real money in that so much can be done with even half of it.

I did nothing directly, just watched, except offer better professional and home pizza ideas to friend and foe alike for Jesus told us it rains on sinners and righteous alike.

Or maybe that was sun shines on them.

Maybe it was Jews and Gentiles, I don't know. What do I look like a biblical scholar?

With a million new serendipity dollars you can pay the guy you noticed who posted about how to make improved pizza crust. They can shoot me a hundred bucks without even feeling it.

Jesus, please tell 'em to give me a hundred bucks. I gave tips for pizza dough that totally rocks. That improves on pizza that tastes like it comes out of a Chef Boyardee box. And, Lord, if they don't on their house send a pox. I love you, Jesus, Amen and Happy Easter.

shim..

While conservative go-fund somebody.

Liberals do seat-ins and eat-ins and black-brunch making themselves disliked in the process.

The go-fund (anonymous if you want) route is the more... Christian, dare I say, decent way.

I'm not just saying that because I consider myself a Christian... who am I kidding?

Christianity rocks.

For all the knocks on Christianity, I don't believe America would be where it has been without it.

Maybe we should run our elections through Go-Fund-Me? Seems like it lets really good people put their money where their mouth is...what a concept.

chickelit said...

I tweeted Alix a thank you earlier today for helping push the go-fund-me response with sher antics.

Joe Biden, America's Putin said...

Perhaps if the Pizza shop made a generous donation to the Clinton foundation, this mess would all go away..

Michael Haz said...

It turns out (thanks, enterprising independent reporters) that Alix had a GoFundMe to raise money for her birthday trip and party in Las Vegas a while back. Now that's a genuine fraud.

Aridog said...

Maybe the Pizza shop should have said yes, collected all payment up front, then laced the pizzas with sundry unsavory flavors. Enjoy folks.

It's not about refusing service retail, like at a lunch counter, etc., in a place of open public accommodation, it is about be forced to participate in a ceremony, off site, you don't wish to include in your day for religious reasons or any reason for that matter.

Given the amount collected by crowd funding, I feel like a piker for offering to buy a pizza (double pepperoni & cheese) to be shipped to me FedEx overnight, at my expense, plus the costs of the special handling at the store. Posted it on at their Facebook site...but it appears closed to comments now and my offer didn't post.

Good for them that they've done better :-)

I figure I can still make the offer by snail mail or telephone at their address:

Memories Pizza, 608 Roosevelt Rd, Walkerton, IN 46574

574-586-7708

May just try that today.
