Cruz did really well there. I have to admit that when I've seen him in the past, he'd not come across as very appealing. Whip smart, but full of himself. But in that exchange with Mika, though, he was able to present his ideas very clearly and unapologetically without sounding like he knew he was the smartest guy on that set.

I have to say that I was disappointed that so many on the right were so ready, from the get, to dump on this guy. Inexperienced? Compared to whom? McCain? Romney? Guys of vast "experience" on the right. How difficult is it to explain it's quality not quantity? Can't speak persuasively? Erm, not so much. Use your words and show your work if you're going to take that tack. I'll vote for the most conservative electable candidate at the end of the day but let's give people a chance, please.
