"Iran dismisses GOP letter while Obama says it aligns them with Iran hardliners"

"In an open letter to the Islamic republic, the 47 Republicans, including Senate leaders and several potential 2016 presidential candidates, reminded Iranian leaders that President Barack Obama is in office only until January 2017, and a successor could scrap the agreement if Congress has not approved it.""We believe that the letter has no legal value and is propaganda," Zarif said, quoted in Iranian media.

"The senators must know that under international law, Congress cannot change the content of the agreement.
And the Iranian regime must know that our constitution provides a roll for our congress to play in matters of foreign treaties. They are not just a potted plant.
"Any congressional action to prevent the implementation of any agreement will violate the international commitments of the (US) government.

"The world is not just in America," Zarif added.
While president Obamas reaction to the GOP letter was... well, Obama being Obama, saying "it's an unusual coalition" to see US Republicans talking directly to Iranian hard-liners."

I would expect the US president and the US congress to work together on this very serious business.

Obama has an affinity to stake everything in terms of how it affects him.

It's remarkable to what lengths he is able to go, to indulge this apparent passion. His preoccupation with himself.

Indeed, Lem. Obama is the ultimate narcissistic personality disorder with a huge dose of ego.

He created the environment that would make it inevitable for congress to say 'you know what? we have pens and phones too'.

Congress was right to telegraph that a future POTUS could oppose the proposed treaty. And it's preposterous to say that Congress has no say in international treaties.

Obama is not just a narcissist - he's also weak and under the spell of hardline-Iranian Rasputin.

You get more shit from some people when you tell an obvious truth than when you tell an obvious lie.

Some react to the truth like it's a fart in an elevator.

hashtag #47traitors leading the twitter trend right now. Referring to senator who sign the letter to Iran.

The thing is that in order for that to be true either John Kerry could not be secretary of State or the left is just making it up as they go along.

I'm not sure if Obama is an example of a narcissistic personality disorder. Obama, I don't think, is all that good about manipulating his public image. He rode in on a wave of others who wanted him to be something and he was happy to play that role.

For all his scandals and other issues of corrupt cronies, we don't have any reports of affairs and all suggestions are that he's a good father. His interests aren't necessarily the empowerment of America, but I get the sense he is concerned with how people feel about him, even and especially those close to him.

I think Bill Clinton is a much better example of a narcissistic personality disorder. Very personable, very engaging, yet entirely dismissive of how his behavior affects others around him.

And I also think Iran knows fully and entirely what America's laws are and how we function, and are massaging Obama's ego against those evil Republicans.

International law? What is that? Is there a series of tomes that spell that out what that is? I always hear "international law, international law." what the fuck is it?

From the Mayo Clinic:

DSM-5 criteria for narcissistic personality disorder include these features:

-Having an exaggerated sense of self-importance.
-Expecting to be recognized as superior even without achievements that warrant it.
-Exaggerating your achievements and talents.
-Being preoccupied with fantasies about success, power, brilliance, beauty or the perfect mate.
-Believing that you are superior and can only be understood by or associate with equally special people.
-Requiring constant admiration.
-Having a sense of entitlement.
-Expecting special favors and unquestioning compliance with your expectations.
-Taking advantage of others to get what you want.
-Having an inability or unwillingness to recognize the needs and feelings of others.
-Being envious of others and believing others envy you.
-Behaving in an arrogant or haughty manner.

Pretty much nails it.

Maybe the next American president will love America and tell "the world" to fuck off.

I do agree Paddy-O that Clinton is NPD and I would add that his wife is a sociopath of sorts.

and you are correct in pointing out that Obama really is scandal-free with his wife and family, & for that we are grateful.

April, I think Hillary definitely is either a sociopath, maybe by herself or because she kept walking down the road Bill blazed. I think Howard Dean and Pelosi are as well.

None of whom should be anywhere near power.
