"FEMA to deny funds to warming deniers"

"The Federal Emergency Management Agency is making it tougher for governors to deny man-made climate change. Starting next year, the agency will approve disaster-preparedness funds only for states whose governors approve hazard-mitigation plans that address climate change."
"If a state has a climate denier governor that doesn't want to accept a plan, that would risk mitigation work not getting done because of politics," said Becky Hammer, an attorney with the Natural Resources Defense Council's water program. "The governor would be increasing the risk to citizens in that state" because of his climate beliefs.

The policy doesn't affect federal money for relief after a hurricane, flood, or other disaster.

Let's hope some governor seizes the opportunity to approve a hazard-mitigation plan that addresses climate change while issuing one hell of a signing statement.

This is what happens when you deal with the federal mafia. They want compliance for our cash. Motherfuckers all of them.

FEMA fascists. With the Federal Govt's countless agencies, bureaus, divisions, etc, they'll probably all want in on the fun of throwing their weight around like the EPA and the IRS.

Even those convinced of AGW should be alarmed about the power of these govt organizations who answer to no one.

I thought it was illegal for the Federal Government to establish a religion, what's this about denying federal benefits based on someone's belief?

Hilarious. FEMA's new found size (obscene) and power (absurd) is the pure and foolish concept of Bush and Cheney, with more credit to Cheney. They were once upon a time just a bunch of accountants who distributed disaster funds as necessary (and audited the dispensing of same)...now they retain those funds for their own purposes. Hello?

It takes a lot of bureaucratic nonsense to fail to deliver water to Staten Island (on the Sandy disaster) for a week after the local bodegas had already replenished their stocks.

Don't even try to question my view on this...I worked with FEMA for years, like 2 decades, on emergency response. Today they are a true circus act, with stupid clowns to boot.

Back in the bad olden days: The weather is nice! Let's plant vineyards in Greenland.

Now in the enlightened modern times: The weather is nice! We have angered the earth mother and must restrict cow emissions or pay the Goracle $5 tribute/fart.

If Republicans want a goal...try abolishing the Department of Homeland Security...a pure non-functional bureaucracy. Actually rivals the ACA. A POTUS has CinC authority over all executive agencies...and can advise them directly that if they fail to cooperate and coordinate, then every agency head is fired as well as their minions. The "lard" of DHS just makes it hard to do and denies accountability at every level. A typical Cheney gambit, nothing more. I doubt Jeh Johnson knows enough to wind his own watch...and this by administration design.

"climate denier"

I went outside and there was no climate.

Actually, what happened was this, I stepped outside, this happened yesterday, and felt on my face and all of my skin, I was wearing a cling-y microfiber t-shirt that shows my slim figure and muscular arms to advantage, so I felt on my arms, the perfect temperature, and I thought, "Yes, you decided well. You picked the right clothes." And isn't this perfect? There is a gentleness to the wind that carries no apparent temperature at all, it is a perfect breeze but it is more than that, a combination of perfect things, the atmospheric lightness, the actual quality of light, the time of day, the season experienced at that moment of change heightened and exaggerated because it occurred between two sides of the country, from the east coast to the west coast, the change from winter to spring was extreme, those first few steps outside, the climate on my skin transported me to California decades previously and I relished in reliving and holding that moment.

I turned a corner and the light and the breeze and the odor transported me directly to Tokyo but only momentarily I opened a door and stepped into the shop with broad open wooden floors and the new warmth, the stillness, the radio, the aroma, the climate inside transported me to Mexico, and I thought, shit Dude, you're trippn'. Stop matching things so much, it invites accidents, and goodness, isn't the climate just perfect.

The climate is perfect a lot of times, and when it is perfect then all those perfect climate moments align in your mind if allowed faze in out as each few steps bring fresh climate awareness sensations delivered through your skin and other sense organs. Taste the air in perfection, transported, hear a sound in perfection, transported, feel the sun on your arm in perfection, transported, sense climate on your body in perfection, transported, the perfections align with perfection. Perfect climate is like a super eclipse.

But do, tell me more of this climate-religion of yours. You were just now spelling out government sanctioned consequence for heretics, right? This is interesting, please continue, because the Muslims do this same thing, they may be onto something, blend religion with government so that there is no distinction between them. There's advantage to that. Tell us of the advantages of blending your science consensus-(oxymoron)-based climate religion with government.

I think we start our own branch of Isis [in a way] but we would place a bounty on the heads of the FEMA fascist bigwigs. You know we could put their names and home addresses on a website and sit back and see what happens.

[And if the NSA is reading this, I am really really just kidding around].
