"Why won't they release the rules?!?!"

"It's been less than 24 hours since the Federal Communications Commission voted to approve strict new regulations on Internet providers, but that's the leading question coming from its critics."

The speculation is that it's worst than people realize.

Meanwhile in China...
Some of China's largest Internet companies deleted more than 60,000 online accounts because their names did not conform to regulations due to take effect on Sunday, the top Internet regulator said.
It was good while it lasted.

It was good while it lasted. Now it will turn into a clusterfuck of gigantic proportions. I guess we will follow China's lead forward to the brave socialist paradise of the future.

Time for Congress to defund the FCC.

Well, I can dream anyway. Too bad the GOP has no spine.

Reason for the "rules" not being published yet? Easy one, they haven't been written yet...just conjured and they could not resist making an announcement that they knew would hack folks off.

Expect one stick in the eye after another for the next 2 years. They cannot help themselves.
Oh, and BTW...to my list of candidates posted elsewhere, add Rudy Giuliani for Attorney General.

Question of the week: Are you a Christian? Prove it. :-)

Rules are not laws, but comprehensive laws for the internet have never been written to my knowledge.

Somebody update me. Back in the day regs were published in the federal register with a comment period and a cost benefit analysis. After comments were resolved, the regs were put into effect. Has the process changed? Does the FCC have special rules?

Choomnet.

The only good thing is this may be easier to undo. As Chick notes, rules are not laws. Then also, a lot of the big ISPs will fight this.

It ain't over till it's over.

We have to see what screws up and try to find a way around it.

Second on Rudy.

And no proof needed. Anybody whose only kind words are for cutthroat Islam and who spent 20 years listening to racist hate is no Christian.
