Republican House thinks you are stupid.

House bill proposed by Ted Yoho to block Obama's authority to remake imigration policy on his own. The U.S. Constitution prevents this, but that's been -- what's the word I'm looking for, shredded? Trampled? Scuffed up? Faded so unreadable? Like over two hundred years ago, Man? Crumpled? Stomped on? Sullied? Shit on! -- That's it. Our Constitution is shit.

Now we know both Houses and Executive branch would all vastly prefer a more pliable, less civic-minded, patron-client population. They are all in it together to actually change the nature of the entire population. They prefer their entire electorate remade to one that accepts corruption as expected of politicians. I can only hope they all bite off way more than they can chew and they all choke on it. And wouldn't it be amazing if all those -- children, is it? -- left for a damn good reason having to do with escaping corruption and grow up to be something akin tea part parties under another name and not the compliant electorate they're all counting on.

The bill hasn't a chance to to pass the Senate and no chance at all of avoiding presidential veto. It is a bluff  intended to show conservative voters that they're trying to do something. To have people on record or whatever.

One thing I cannot stand is insincerity.

Per HotAir
The burning question: With House tea partiers complaining that the bill was meaningless and ineffectual, could Boehner still find a majority to pass it? Yup, as it turns out. Although he needed a little Democratic help to cross the 218 threshold.

Three Democrats voted yes while seven Republicans voted no and another three Republicans voted “present.” The roll isn’t out yet so we’re not sure who those 10 GOPers are but I’ll update as soon as it’s available. The White House, incidentally, has already all but promised to veto this bill. If Boehner had wanted to make Obama choke on it, he could have followed the Lee/Cruz plan by inserting this as a rider to a spending bill that would fund the entire government for a few months. That way, Reid and Obama would have a stark choice of either approving the money with this condition attached or else blocking it and bracing for the resulting shutdown. Instead, by splitting Yoho’s bill off from the “cromnibus” funding bill that’ll be voted on later today (I think), Boehner made it easy for Democrats to oppose Yoho’s language without risking any standoff over government funding.

Allahpundit at Hot Air expands on this further, with the roll now included.

Meanwhile at Red State readers are sending Beohner balls. They've passed 100 orders of balls so far. The conceit is that he doesn't have any.

It's weird. They're racquet balls. Blue ones. That means beginner balls in racquet ball-speak. Softer and squishier. The weird part is the balls come are marketed three to a can. Maybe they keep one for their dog, but it would be odd to send a can of three.  I do not know. Others prefer sending the more realistic your nuts type. More to the point. More on the nose, as it were.

At any rate, should you care to register your disapproval, tell him you're watching, tell them you know what they're doing, make him cry, either with balls, a strongly worded letter, a pop-up of a guillotine with tea-party executioner, what have you, here is Boehner's address.

Rep. John Boehner
76 East High Street, 3rd Floor
Springfield, OH 45502

Unless the address and those patriotic tears are all fake outs too.

The GOP Establishment still doesn't get it that spitting on the base on this central an issue spells the end of the Republican Party's chance to win the presidency in '16. So what else is new? Fundamental stupidity in politics is no surprise.

Obamacare is unpopular - for its evidence based reality: It costs more and you get less.

ObamaPelosiHillaryCare becomes a bigger hassle on our journey to single payer Hillary NHS-style health care. ...for the children.

Giving the green light to illegal immigration will be an economic disaster for the lower and middle classes. A green light that will inspire millions to pour in.
But that's all cool with Boehner, Jeb, Hillary, Warren Buffet and facebook millionaires and billionaires. - the ultra wealthy political class will bleed us dry all while they promise to restore the past.

Our political system is broken.

See here's the thing.

Barack Obama didn't sign and Executive Order that revised immigration policy.

See for yourself. Here is a list of all the Executive Orders Obama signed year-to-date in 2014. There is no EO regarding immigration on the list. Nada.

He said that he would; he said that he did, but it didn't happen. (This sounds oddly like condom use during a hook-up, no?)

As it stands, the Obama appears to have pulled a fast one and engaged in a smoke and mirrors move worthy of an Oscar by changing U.S. immigration law not actually by EO but instead through a memorandum “exercising prosecutorial discretion” that DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson signed the day of Obama’s Nov. 20th nationwide address to the proletariat, and which as not, as of yet, been filed in the Federal Register.

The entire implementing authority involves a memorandum published by DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson that changes the immigration law, directing federal money to be spent that has not been appropriated by Congress.

(Is this too long? Should it have been made into a topic? Maybe stand up and stretch for a moment.)

So this is why those 18 governors and their attornies general have brought suit against the O administration. Not to block a non-existent EO, but because the entire implementing authority involves a memorandum published by DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson that changes the immigration law, directing federal money to be spent that has not been appropriated by Congress.

And because DHS is being hijacked to implement actions Congress has neither authorized nor appropriated funds to accomplish.

It's that whole separation of powers thing.

Maybe the Republicans in the House, some of them, including John Boehner and his fawning desire to bawl and compromise think the voters are stupid. But not all Elephants believe that, so look out for nasty fight among the elected party members. And if the House leadership is to scardey to get into this fight, the Republican governors have shown that they are plenty happy to step into the ring.

Idiots - but also people smart enough to know they need to control how the votes are counted.

BTW - The new system in CO is signature verification. It's horrible. I went to a meeting with a group of signature verification peeps and it's a mess. The system is filled with holes and not enough signatures even exist in the system.

A photo ID is far superior method than "signature verification" - no matter what the media tell you (vie copy from for the democrat party)

When I scrap metal, I have to show ID to get paid.

What AllenS has said...not only on the money, but it saved you all from one of my commentary "epistles" :-)

PS: In my town the Rite-Aid chain now requires a photo ID to buy liquor from EVERYONE...no matter if you are 20 something or 70 something. I think that's pretty funny..but I'm weird like that.

They've had it easy for some time now, getting easy votes to stay in power (but not in authority) by posing as The Lesser of Two Weevils.

Vote for Us: We'll Throw You a Bone Now and Then!

Vote for Us: We Won't Shit the Bed and Blame You!

They're the Big Government Farm Team and they're being called up to the majors now that the credibility of the Progressive Media-Cultural-Government Complex in very serious jeopardy. The problem is they have no one to hide behind or draft off anymore.
WE SEE YOU!
