Missouri Governor on Ferguson: 'Violence Will Not Be Tolerated'

"State and county authorities will join forces to curb violent protests when a grand jury announces its decision on the Ferguson police officer who shot 19-year-old Michael Brown to death in August, Gov. Jay Nixon said Tuesday. "Violence will not be tolerated," Nixon said in a press conference. The grand jury is expected to return its decision on Officer Darren Wilson in mid to late November, Nixon said."
At the same time, Nixon said he is keeping the Missouri National Guard on call for backup in case things get out of hand. "We must be fully prepared," the governor said. The "unified command" will include the Missouri State Highway Patrol, St. Louis County Police and St. Louis Metropolitan Police, but will not apparently include Ferguson police, who came under withering criticism for their handling of the shooting's aftermath.

But somebody's gotta pay!

They should sacrifice a white virgin.

If they can find one, it being Missouri and all.

Anyone up for a road trip to St. Looie?

"[S]hot . . . to death."

There are a great many indicators of bad faith.

And that's one, right there.

Apparently, the revolution will be televised.

If it turns out there's no presentment then we're all going to have to re-think what it means to order the ham on rye.

'Violence Will Not Be Tolerated'

Well there's a meaningless euphemism.

But I suppose the more accurate "public violence will be met with state violence" would offend too many delicate sensibilities.

Have you noticed how Ramadan never comes around when you need it.

No brakes for you.

KCFleming said...

Lem, I recently met some nice Sudanese guys (neighbors). They told me that rich Muslims often choose to vacation during Ramadan in areas where sundown comes early, so little fasting.

Others just make sure the doors are closed so no one sees them eat.

On the other hand... maybe I'm too naïve to think Ramadan could postpone a riot like it does a war.

The cultural legacy of stupidity.

It appears that a lot of people would prefer that the cop was a dedicated racist who shot an innocent kid out of nothing but racial hatred, and if it's anything less racist, then that would be a huge disappointment to them, rather than a relief. In other words, they would actually prefer that they were part of a deeply racist and broken society rather than admit that a person with dark skin did something incredibly stupid by attacking an armed man who intended him no harm.

They would obviously prefer something very foul in our society rather than accept the inevitable and common stupidity of youth, hormones, and bad role models. The reason for that is all about what that truth says as to who is really culpable for the young man's death, and thousands like him.

Little late, isn't it?

Besides, the only "unified command" that's gonna make a difference at this point is JSOC.

Nixon should be impeached.

We have several friends who are retired Cal Hwy Patrol, LA Cops, and from various Sheriff depts.

They all concur. The Ferguson Police Dept should have a severe case of the Blue Flu about the time the verdict is announced.

Sorry Ferguson....you are on your own.

Another black riot, another Democrat rationalization for the riot, another million whites quits with the Democrats for life. All good. And not an effing thing you can do about it, Schmendrik.

Sorry, but I have to say this. The Offspring suck. They are a horrible ban in every way possible.

Seems anti-climactic.

I think the Dems know now that the racial incitement hurts them.

But, they may be so habituated to inciting racial hatred that they can't stop.

The onus is on Sharpton et al. to head off any violence. They fanned the flames & incited it.

How many of the "demonstrators" are residents of Ferguson?

If the riots are expected in Ferguson is there any legal way to allow only residents to be in Ferguson? If they want to riot, I mean "demonstrate," let the residents do what they think they want to do and keep the Palestinians out of town.

And BagOh, you nailed it.

Apparently Brown's "parents" "testified" before so e UN committee about the "genocide" in Fergusen.

Pogo's use of quotation marks are for diplomatic purposes.

BTW... There is a white guy on Fox saying he killed Bin Laden.

This is unbelievable. Everybody knows Obama killed Osama and Fox is trying to take it away from him.

I think both Michael Brown and Trayvon Martin committed an act of impulsive violence that ended catastrophically for them. The useful lesson to be learned in both cases is that it is unwise to commit impulsive acts of violence, but that's not a moral that will be preached by anyone in the media nor any black public figure......What about justice for Zimmerman and Wilson?. Zimmerman's life is definitely, irrevocably ruined, and I don't think Wilson will have an easy row downstream either.
