"Maher and Ben Affleck Battle over Radical Islam"

"Ben Affleck, Bill Maher, Nicholas Kristol, Michael Steele, and author Sam Harris got into what could only be described as a tumultuous continuation of Maher’s comments on Islam from last week, with Maher and Affleck tearing into each other over the influence of fundamentalists in the Muslim community."
“We have been sold this meme of Islamophobia, where criticism of the religion gets conflated with bigotry towards muslims as people,” Harris began. “It’s intellectually ridiculous.”

“Hold on — are you the person who officially understands the codified doctrine of Islam?” Affleck, on the show to promote his movie Gone Girl, interrupted, and argued that criticizing Islam, as Maher and Harris were doing it, was “gross and racist. It’s like saying, ‘Oh, you shifty Jew!’”
You get the picture...

Richard Linklater really captured the essence of Ben Affleck in "Dazed And Confused." It's well worth a watch.

I'm just guessing here, but I bet that at some point in the recent past Maher fought for the same position that Affleck is here. Ben is just a little slow on where the cool kids are today.

If you watch the previous segment you can see how Bill Maher had primed Affleck to go off.

I can only guess at what a "mother load" is but a "father load" is what starts the baby.

Has Affleck offered any support for Ayaan Hirsi Ali, one of those 'moderate muslim' voices who was denied a speaking opportunity at "liberal" Brandeis University?

Affleck is a pure example of what the lefties did to the school system over the last 40 years.

Predictable idiots, invincibly ignorant, cultural Marxists, moral pussies, for any tyrant that is not American, especially if anti-American.

He doesn't need to open his mouth. His entire worldview can be printed on a card, a modern day Babbitt.

I have to give Maher credit. He's not as dogmatic as the typical TV liberal host.

I will offer to Affleck that he is wearing a nice suit.

Is kind of funny how in the name of open mindedness Affleck appears afflicted by narrow mindedness.

I think part of the reason why some young people are going over there to join ISIS is because we are not making sense in our stand against them. It's confusing and convoluted.

So when they hear the Islamist propaganda the confused mind of some of these yuts, they are completely defenseless. They are able to make an informed choice.

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

I should say they aren't able to make an informed choice.

Maher's doing his militant atheist thing and Bennifer is just being PC.

Not unlike watching Barbarossa unfold.

PS It's Mother "Lode", as in Comstock.

He's dogmatic.

I lasted to almost the end and I wish that I hadn't. I wish I followed instinct and ignored it. I did hear part of this last night phasing in and out, and was disgusted even then. Because now I really do not like this guy. I already knew that I sort of didn't and now it is concrete.

The whole time Ben Affleck is talking I visualize a dog licking his own balls. Then stops licking and slurping, turns to the camera and says something Ben Affleck says. I reviewed collecting the things that Ben Affleck says to produce such a wonder. It was hilarious in my mind.

Then I became struck by a few things repeated throughout that are so annoying the fun disappeared.

He reminds me of my stupid sister impassioned.

Ben Affleck says, "that's like saying..." , "that the same as..." , "so what you guys are saying..."

Rephrases to fit into dogma he feels certain about, the things he can argue against, ignores what is said in favor of what is arguable, and insists the opposition is as narrow when it is not. He argues narrowly and dogmatically. If he is to argue, and he is, then it must fit the narrow channel of dogma he is strong about. So he argues like a little girl.

Who is an actor.

Throwing in all the little actor touches of passion, from facial expression to full skeleton, and behind all that is a little girl. Emphasizing words dramatically as High School girls would impassion. I could just smack the bitch. He is completely out of his league, and the league ain't that great. And the audience, Hey Sus Cristos y santa Maria, que un manojo precioso de cocos, what a lovely bunch of coconuts.

Chip w/ a great onomatopoeia ball licking metaphor. I am going to use that one in the future.

Just remember whenever you pay a dollar to see a Ben Affleck movie you are supporting this jerk-off and the people who enable terrorists.

The same when you watch Rosie and Whoppie on the View or patronize the people who sponsor that show.

A dollar for Affleck is a dollar for jihad.

Did you notice how Affleck at one point said we are "endowed by our cr... forefathers" with certain inalienable rights"? Why couldn't he say "creator," as he started to? Was he afraid of looking like a believer in front of Mahr and Harris? Or maybe most lefties are using that changed language now?

ndspinelli said...

Did anyone see Tony Bennett sing God Bless America @ the Giants/Nats game. It was incredibly embarrassing. I felt so bad. Time to hang up the microphone.

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

That was a good catch Lydia.

Creator? oops.

William said...

Well, he made Maher look reasonable and moderate. That's hard to pull off.

Man, when you nail it, you NAIL IT!

Why does anyone listen to an "actor" on politics...how do you know they aren't "acting?"

Enlist you old bitch boy, and see the reality, or just STFU.

PS - Argo sucked. filled with lies, half truths.
The Jimmy Carter rehabilitation project can bite me.

Why on earth do we treat Hollywood actors as if they are an authority on anything? They cannot function in the real world and so they play dress up and create make believe. Is it because they make millions of dollars doing so that makes us think they know-it-all?
