"Obama’s new muse: George W. Bush"

"President Barack Obama drafted most of Wednesday’s United Nations speech by himself, but it often sounded like he had a ghost writer: the predecessor he mocked."
Type Obama’s money phrase — the evocative description of the Islamic State of Syria and the Levant as a “network of death” — into thesaurus.com and George W. Bush’s “axis of evil” could very well come out, as many tweeters and former aides to the 43rd president noted.

Obama didn’t just run against Bush’s foreign policy. He used to ridicule it. His rejection of the Bush worldview was so emphatic that it seemed to prompt the Nobel Peace Prize committee to give him the award just for getting elected.

So much for all that. (read more)

Next he'll become a Mormon or something.

I seem to remember something about he who laughs last...

Quite amusing to read the NY Times coverage of Obama's War on Terror. (He's got a different name for it.)

Now that the great savior of the oceans has embraced George Bush's foreign policy (what choice did he have?), the Times posits that Obama's hand is forced by unfortunate and unforeseeable events, which he responds to "reluctantly."

The media are falling all over themselves using white house talking copy. "No boots on the ground, Not like Bush, Look at the broad coalition, isn't it amazing!?"

Doing the math, we see that Obama has already consumed in one night of strikes 47% of next year's planned purchases. The naval inventory will soon be depleted at this rate unless we crank up the arsenal of democracy and stop beating our swords into solar panels

The transformation is do to polling saying women believe we are less safe with Obama.

I'm sleeping soundly at night knowing the safety of the United States hinges on how many nice ladies pick up the phone to answer questions.

Remember when he wouldn't wear a lapel pin flag?

Network of death? He should have called in Ayers.

I watched a little of CNN and MSNBC last night. Anderson Cooper and Chris Hayes talking about the war.

They're lost. At sea without a sail. Don't know how to frame the story. Aren't sure what the narrative is.

Eventually the White House will pull them together but for now I rather enjoyed the experience.

Meanwhile, PBS has been doing an FDR lovefest and a boomer review.

My wife gets mad because I have to leave the room whenever PBS is on.

But it's either that or I have stroke.

Waaaaaait a minute.
