"Obama delays action on changes to immigration system"

"After efforts to pass a comprehensive immigration bill died in the Republican-led House of Representatives, Obama gave a fiery White House speech in June saying he would instead do it on his own. During that speech, he said, "If Congress won't do their job, at least we can do ours."
But the president came under intense pressure from Democrats facing tough re-election battles who feared a stiff Republican backlash come November if the president made his announcement before then. Among their chief concerns was a plan to protect millions of undocumented immigrants from deportation, a move largely supported by immigration advocates but reviled as "amnesty" by many Republicans.

"The president's latest broken promise is another slap in the face of the Latino and immigrant community," said Cristina Jimenez, managing director for United We Dream, a group of young undocumented immigrants pushing for an end to deportations.

"Where we have demanded leadership and courage from both Democrats and the president, we've received nothing but broken promises and a lack of a political backbone."
What happened to the president's pen? Did it run out of ink?

A slap in the face to latinos? Who gives a fuck - when he gives them amnesty the day after the election it will be a slap in the face of everyone here legally.

Fuck that goddamned moron. Unless he is stopped, which I assume he won't be, this country will be unrecognizable by the time he is out of office.

The corruption slows down before the election, then revs back up into high gear right after.

Turley put up a post blasting Obama on this. He rips Obama regularly. Intellectually honest man. The anti-TOP.

Any sober normal person is an anti-TOP. Throw in moral and intelligent and you are as far away from that degraded harridan as one can get.

Only the illegals can save ObamaCare.

And by save, you mean bankrupt, right?

The problem that every politician or political group that wants to cater to the Latino interests groups has is: what's good for the Latino interest groups is bad for everyone else. In other words, what the Latinos want politically is what they can't have.

What do they want? They want the legalization of 13 million additional voters, and a relaxation of rules at the border to let more of them in. They want the overnight expansion of Latino power at the expense of everyone else. No other group --- including corporate interests looking for cheaper labor --- wants this. No one wants the seismic political shift that adding that many new voters would cause.

Amnesty is political death for whoever touches it. If Obama, post election, implements some dramatic immigration policy that pleases the Latino activists, he dooms the 2016 Democratic slate.

Perhaps a little fakery to keep the Hispanics in line through November.

Only this and nothing more.

"Hispanics" are another fake progressive "community" that is in no way monolithic nor monolithically in favor of amnesty. The prog assumption that "Hispanics" only think in terms of some sort of tribal or ethnic best interest is bigoted and self-serving. When will Rs learn to talk past/over/around the chattering press cordon around these fake communities?
