President to meet with Gov. Perry for border discussion

"Gov. Rick Perry turned down what he characterized as President Barack Obama’s offer for a “quick handshake on the Tarmac” when the president arrives in Austin on Wednesday. But Perry said he would juggle his schedule to accommodate a “substantive meeting” with Obama on border security any time during his two-day visit to Texas.

Late Monday, Valerie Jarrett, senior advisor to President Obama, replied to Perry affirmatively, saying, “The president would welcome a meeting with you while he is in Texas.”

In the two-page letter obtained first by the American-Statesman, Jarrett also invited Perry to join faith leaders and local elected officials for a round table discussion on the border that has been added to the president’s schedule while he is in Dallas on Wednesday. It wasn’t immediately clear how Perry would respond.

The president is spending two days in Texas, raising money for national Democratic coffers in Dallas on Wednesday and in Austin on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. His only public event in Austin will be a discussion of the economy at the Paramount Theater on Congress Avenue on mid-day Thursday. There was no plan to visit the southern border while in Texas, but the newly-added Dallas round table means that he will be addressing the issue of illegal immigration head-on while in the state."

Perry correctly declined the airport photo op and should also decline to participate in the "discussion" with the "faith leaders" which will basically be about "our" obligation to take care of (pay for) hundreds of thousands of foreign nationals that just happened to stop by all at once with sad stories. There will never be a substantive discussion about border security on Obama's watch.

Yea, that's what he's doing.

What the President should do is have the courage to go directly to the border and collect donations like a proper respectable coyote.

Maybe the president could bring some of them back home with him to mulch the Rose Garden or cut the South Lawn.

Be a part of the solution!!!

Evidently (according to a Doctor and his wife who called into the Limbaugh Show) the government has "reached out" to the Catholic Church in So Ca to ask them to help.

The "help" is going to be to ask their parishioners to take into their homes some of the (so called) children. This would be at their own expense with hopes that the Church and then the parishioners would be reimbursed. The Doctor and his wife said that the Bishop told them all to not contact the media. Hush hush.

The doctor is very concerned because of the diseases and parasitic infestations. He said that the American Public is in danger. The Dr. also said that there is a FEMA facility within 10 miles of their town....why isn't the Government using that where there would be medical screening and treatment available. Instead they want to put TB ridden and lousy children right into the public.

I know why......If they use FEMA then Obama will really have to own this disaster. Obama would rather have the public exposed to diseases, criminals and anything else than to take responsibility.

WE. ARE. SO. SCREWED

Governor Perry should take a battalion of Texas Rangers, child care social workers, doctors, nurses and journalists to the concentration camps where they are holding these immigrants to inspect and tell the American People what is really going on.

If they refuse entry like they did the Congressman they should blockade the roads and arrest everyone who comes out for child endangerment until they open up the camps for full and free disclosure.

deborah said...

Excellent idea, Trooper. Even though Texas will pick up the bill, it will get the info out that there is disease in some, and potential criminal activity from the older ones.

O'Reilly mentioned about a week ago that we need to begin by holding Mexico responsible for its own citizens (I know these current kids are from Central and South America). He said with Mexico it should include threats of economic sanctions.

Finally, while we keep them they should be set up in the FEMA camp so they have beds and food and proper medical care and counseling.

But given the propensity of this administration to lie, it's hard for me not believe any report coming along saying how bad the administration is at administering.

Of course this was all planned. Mexico let these children (and the rest) through their own (heavily guarded) southern border, knowing they were headed for the U.S. This is a conspiracy among government establishments to move some pawns around, child welfare be damned. But we, the ATMs, will now be lectured about humanitarianism.

deborah said...

Ric, that's crazy talk. They must be out-foxed.

Am, in addition I sense an Obama-Perry agreement. Perry looks tough, Obama pretends to accede to his request.

It actually is no joke and a very real fact that many of these pre-teens and teens have been raped en route and either have been or will be kidnapped by sex traffickers and Hussein & Co. know darn well that that's happening and it is obscene and we do need a revolution NOW. Anybody goes to the front lines I'll be happy to hold his coat.

Well, I'll be damned, somebody noticed. How about that!

And, oh frigging yes, the Catholic Church is being dragged in to this mess...I am marginally involved with that.

NO, you do NOT know this. Last week most of my parish companions were Mexican, this week they're all Honduran or Guatemalan. Same people, same faces, same kids, same names, now all not Mexican. Really?

This administration drags a raggedy $1.00 bill on string through your neighborhood and everyone jumps for it. We are so toast.

deborah said...

Ricpic, how old are you :)

deborah said...

Okay, Ari, reportedly they are from south of Mexico.

Aridog said...

Do two things:

1. Cut off all trade with Mexico, 100% at the border. Advise them 24 hours in advance then do it.

2. Next bus-load of illegals approaches the border, blow it off the fucking road with a 155 mm howitzer (M109's are very mobile).

3. See how many folks want to come on down after that?

We are such pussies. Really. Cunts r' Us should be the new name for the USA. Yes, my current involvement with this crap has me a tad pissed off.

reportedly they are from south of Mexico.

There is no way in the world to KNOW this. They can be from anywhere. Mexico, Guatemala, Iran. There is no documentation. No documentation and no attempts to screen them, determine if they are gang members (the teenagers) or if they are criminals in their own countries.

They are ILLEGAL and are criminals HERE. Yes. Even the little children are illegal and criminals. I don't say put the little children in jail. Send all of them back home. They don't have a place to go? Too bad. That isn't OUR problem. That is the problem of the Country that they were living in before. The little children are just Trojan Horses to allow even MORE and MORE illegals into the country.

People who have NO job skills, who will be on welfare, public assistance and stress the resources of the medical communities to the maximum. They are here to bankrupt the country, disrupt the country and drag us down into their third world unhygienic hell holes where things like drug resistant tuberculosis and even WORSE are common.

If you want to be a bleeding heart and adopt some of the littlest children....be sure to get your shots first and buy your lice combs.

lol ric, good answer. My dad always said he was 29. And he said he didn't like to have pictures taken of him in case the FBI was ever after him :)

Ari; not satisfactory.

Until the kid's real parents or those who 'claim' they are his/her real relatives come knocking at the door and rip the adopted child from your arms.

There are plenty of American children in need of adoption who are waiting. Children who aren't carrying third world diseases. Children who may even actually speak your language. Children who are able to be LEGALLY adopted with some modicum of security that the whole thing isn't a big freaking scam or con. If you feel the need to be all multi racial...there are plenty of ethnic flavors to chose from. In fact....it is a smorgasbord!!!

Perry is wasting his time. The only good that might come from meeting with Obama is that perhaps Perry will look like the adult in the room who is looking out for not only his people in Texas but the rest of us as well.

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

Notice thought, Perry avoided the tarmac photo op. I wouldn't go to any town hall meeting either.

It's not like what is going on and what to do about it should be open for debate.

That doesn't go unnoticed.

Deborah..."not satisfactory"...okay, I am open to what is? Tell me.

Meantime, do unto the undetermined south/central Americans in Mexico, as they would do unto to you...check out the Mexican laws on illegal immigration. How do they get from the southern border of Mexico to the northern border with Texas? Oh, my...

Just shut down the border, totally, we can do it, we just wont' do it. Not your fault...but Obamessiah's, that grand leader of men....Bwahahahahaha.

It's even worse than Amartel's list suggests. Marco Rubio, sometime darling of the Tea Partiers, isn't on that list and he supports open borders. All of the Bush clan do. Rand Paul has bounced around on the topic, but libertarians generally believe that labor should flow freely.
