Blog Claim: "App Brings Israel’s Air Raid Warnings to Your iPhone"

"Hear the rocket attack air raid warnings real-time, as they go off in Israel, on your iPhone. Live as an Israeli citizen for a day, using the Red Alert : Israel app. After 24 hours, you’ll never be the same."
In the past day, more than 30 sirens have gone off, each a rocket attack launched by Hamas from the Gaza Strip. The rockets land indiscriminately throughout Israel, a nation one-tenth the size of Oklahoma.

Israel citizens scramble to shelters, like in the video below, each time this occurs, day or night. The nation has built an extensive system of shelters as part of it’s national defense.

If you can take it for more than 24 hours, you’ll understand why Israel has called up 40,000 reserve troops, and is launching air strikes into Gaza to locate the source of the attacks. (read more)

Red Alert (five stars out of five)

I've used the Hebrew version for a whole. It's wonderful (in a sad way) to finally have this in English so my coworkers can better understand the horror of the situation, and what Israelis are going through daily.

Those Palestinians are such pranksters. I hear the American Administration is recommending that Israel just pass a law to ban assault rockets.

I'm going to assume that an app like that is intended for the classroom.

Shit, I was in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv a month ago.

The hospital in northern Israel (Rambam Hospital in Haifa) got shelled in 2000. So they built 5 stories underground as a parking garage whose stalls convert to patient rooms during bombing.

The electric, computer, air, surgery, etc., are all ready to go in a moment. They run drills monthly.

In contrast, Hamas does fuck-all. They leave the Palestinians worse off every year. No jobs, no investment. Just rage boy crap.

But Israelis are the bad guys according to Obama and the media.

And even weirder, that Israeli hospital treats everyone, even the Palestinian soldiers.

Rage boy crap, indeed. The Palestinians offer nothing to the world but rage. Decadent American leftists relate.

I have one of the first of these rockets into roses ever shipped to the USA. It took some time to clear customs, but it sits on my mantle to this day. I have friends in Israel that I value highly and it reminds me of the threat they face every day. I receive emails from one that describes the onslaught of rockets going on right now as we speak.

Pogo....next time you go to Israel, let me know if you would. I might join you. ON my opwn dime I assure you :-) I'd rather not go alone. No big deal either way, but it really is a special place.

Friends there are precious beyond words. One in particular changed me from an atheist to a believer in God, not an easy thing to do given my history.

My email is in my profile if you wish to use it. Either way, I will go to Israel before the end of the decade one way or another. I owe those there I care for and that's the least I can do. Next to Korea and Vietnam, no place is more important to me ... except of course, the US of A.

Petach Tikva and Karimel are of particular interest. People I love live there.

"One-tenth the size of Oklahoma" is an odd way of putting it.
