Clift is a dead ringer for Shirley MacLaine.
I don't understand how people like Clift stay employed in this stuff so long. She has been like that forever. She never said anything interesting or surprising except for the entertaining level of dishonesty she often resorts to. She is a free lance Democratic spokeshole, and always has been. I know what she will say before she opens her mouth. Now this is also true of many pundits on the right, but I don't mind people being predictable if they are saying the truth, and it seems to be getting lost or disputed, but to lie and with such banality is what ruins debates on blogs and in the media.

Well, that was painful -- I just watched the clip. I'll give her a slight pass on the "he wasn't murdered" thing because she does say "murdered" while using in-the-air hand-quotes. But what's even worse, to me, is that she is still pushing the "opportunistic attack" that grew out of a video scenario. I thought even the most die-hard of the Dems had given up that line of defense. Maybe she didn't get the memo?
Clift was the one who was gushing after Pelosi became the first female Speaker of the House, about what a powerful leader she was by vindictively punishing Democratic freshmen who didn't fall into line with her plans.

CL Sorry I don't watch that high class stuff and I don't have HBO.
Eleanor Clift doesn't rise to the level of celebrity. People vaguely know who she is and are mildly surprised that she's still alive. She's now a little more famous, not to the level of Joey Buttafucco, but a little more famous. I don't think she'll get any endorsement deals because of this, but Hillary can use a woman like this on her speech writing team.
