We are Old Dawgz, too.

Nice. All the dogs I have adopted have been old dogs, with a few middle-agers thrown in. They were dogs that someone couldn't keep any longer, or dogs whose elderly owners passed away.

I think in some way I was making a deposit into the karma bank so that when I'm an old dog I'll still be valued and taken care of.

Had a Springer Spaniel, Annie, who lived to be 15.

She was always a great dog, but she was particularly wonderful in her old age. Annie played a huge role in dragging my daughter out of her despair over the death of her mother.

@Michael

I'm finding that people really value Old Dawgz. We're cranky and a little stinky, but we're wise and experienced.

You're an angel, Haz. Senior dogs are very hard to get adopted. They fill a good number of our rescue's slots. We will either find them a great loving home or they will stay with us forever. They are usually the easiest, most loving dogs one can adopt. There is always someone out there for us all, if you can just find them.
