Shit, this "Cranky Old White Guy Who Somehow Thinks He's Still Cool and Marginally Relevant" as I was described by Althouse today, is surrounded by people (and particularly by women) who love him.

It's a great Valentine's Day.

Happy Valentine's Day, LEM!

Nothing marks you as a pompous ass more than thinking you know how "relevant" someone else is to the world, and to top it off by stating this great truth you think you know on a blog.

I'll tell you someone relevant to me. The unsung and unknown clerk at the blood lab, who conscientiously emailed my latest blood test results early this morning which showed I currently have no detectable Hep C virus in my blood after being 1,300,000 a month ago, my liver enzyme numbers have dropped to better than perfect, and I even knocked 60 points off my cholesterol which was already normal, and lost 10 pounds. Just across the board miracles. I credit evil profit-driven drug companies, and love. I started enjoying the fruits of both at about the same time, so who knows?

Happy Valentines Day all!

So to speak.

Amazing news Bags.

Is it possible that we will eventually be able to completely eliminate the Hep C virus?

bagoh20 said...

I expect so, Rabel. This new drug is so amazing, that anybody can take it without risk. The only problem right now is price, which will be dealt with in the usual ways soon. My doctor said that an Indian company has already knocked it off. Not the Indians with the casinos, but the ones with the 7/11s. That, plus the fact that the mechanism of this drug is now known to be effective and will be used to makes similar drugs.

I still can't believe my insurance agreed to pay for it, but they have never denied me anything, and it's just an HMO plan available to every person in my company for about $160/ month pretax.

Congrats, BagO! As Takei's fellow Star Trekian might say, "live long and prosper"!

Terrific news, bags. You seem to be on a heckuva ride.

I gave a dozen Valentines pop-up cards to people I do not know.

How and why did I do that, you reasonably ask.

By giving them to people I do know with instructions to give it to somebody else. Because I think it's splendid and because it's fun.

Phew, and boy, are my fingers tired. Plus I spilled acrylic paint rinse water on the wall and poked myself with a brand new x-acto blade but it didn't bleed.

I'm making a hand made card, but not a popup. That's way above my pay grade. I'm just hoping for perfect spelin.

Fantastic news. Better than that, actually...I haven't the words.

I love random stuff like that.

When random pairs with intentional, flow happens.

Without the intentional purchase of materials and effort put into card making, random wouldn't have the opportunity to blossom into unintentional blessing.

One complements the other. They invite each other along for a ride.
