"I have no interest in gender, race or anything like that ..."

People think it’s the census or something,” Seinfeld said of the assertion that all pop culture should accurately reflect society. “This has gotta represent the actual pie chart of America? Who cares? Funny is the world that I live in. You’re funny, I’m interested. You’re not funny, I’m not interested. I have no interest in gender or race or anything like that.”

Seinfeld went on to say that approaching comedy through the lens of race or gender or sexuality are “anti-comedy.” “It’s more about PC nonsense than ‘Are you making us laugh or not?’” he said.

uh oh. Come on Jerry. Must obsess over the superficial differences like every other moron.

yeah - that obsession is BORING, not funny, and long past tired.

I like Jerry. He's clever and one of the few comedians who doesn't use profanity in his jokes.

What Jerrila and all the other nice people don't realize is that the forces of PC are relentless and unappeasable. But then his patented NTTAWWT after making the mildest of mild fun of homosexuals on his show was the giveaway that he does bow down before THE POWER. So he does get it. And would rather not deal with the automatic bigot label attached to all those who won't bend the knee.

Ricpicila tells us what's what.

I think him having Chappelle on would be a hoot.

You also lose your best potential material when you are tip toeing about being PC.

Probably the funniest bit would be for him to do CCC with Wanda Sykes. She is hilarious. They could talk about PC stuff and make it funny.

And that's why Richard Pryor is the world's greatest stand-up and Jerry Sienfeld isn't.

That's why everybody alive can recite at least part of Chris Rock's "Black People Vs. Niggas", but can't name a single Jerry Sienfeld bit.

It's why most blacks have never watched a single episode of Seinfeld.

It's why black people on Seinfeld almost always met a bad fate.

And, of course, George Carlin was a comedic idiot for pointing out that, when white guys hang out with blacks, they also start acting like them - and not the other way around.

All of it, stupid, pointless, and unimportant.

Just like Jerry Seinfeld.

Crackila the dry drunk is here. I'm out.

Oh darn, I really wanted to comment, too.

Remember when Eddie Murphy did stand up? He was hilarious.

It's about the funny.

Richard Pryor was funny. He'd be awesome with Jerry in a CGC.

So would Bill Cosby.

Tawana doesn't like Jerry Seinfeld, and wants comedy reparations.

Color me shocked!

I have said many times, comedians are our last line of defense from PC. Seinfeld and his buddy Larry David make it a point to skewer PC.

I have NEVER said anything untoward about Crack. I have not chimed in on this latest mutation of Crack. But man, WTF???

Oh, and don't forget how pissed off the notoriously racist Paul Mooney got after he hired a lot of now-famous great white comedians for work with Richard Pryor but - because of attitudes like Jerry Seinfeld's - they made Mooney fend for himself when he went solo.

All of it, stupid, pointless, and unimportant to comedy.

Just like Jerry Seinfeld.

Who gave Robin Williams his first job?

Paul Mooney.

Yeah - Italians after watching Rocky - hilarious!

Seinfeld is all about being Jewish and single in NYC.

He's been tremendously successful because the singletons fresh out of college in the big city is always a major theme of life.

I liked his show. Over the years, I've seen every episode.

I especially like the fact that Seinfeld's humor is light hearted. I'm not interested in world savers or big thinkers. I'm interested in laughs.

Seinfeld's humor is kinda gentle and good natured. I like that.

I used to like Seinfeld. But then I found out how he met his wife and I lost all respect for him.

He is not my kind of guy.

But to each his own.

I never found Jerry funny. Maybe he contributed a lot behind the scenes but everyone else on the show was funnier than he was. I usually skip over his boring "routine" at the start and end of each show.

But he's right about liberal fascism.

Lot of funny black comedians. Although Chris Rock is a little too loud, vulgar and repetitive for my taste. I can only handle him in small doses.

Same thing with Wanda Sykes and Sarah Silverman. Good for about 10 minutes.

And Robin Williams, Gad. Crazy and Frantic doesn't equal funny.

nanoo nanoo = not funny.

Candy, Belushi, Farley, Hartman, Murray - those were funny comic actors.

We never do know what a relationship between two people is really like, do we? It looks bad that Seinfeld's wife met Seinfeld and then left her husband after just a few months of marriage to him. But who knows -- that husband may have been violent with her; he's got a history of that. And most recently he blamed bashing his current wife on postpartum depression; not hers, his. Oy, what a jerk.

Trooper York said...

He might be a dick but his wife is way worse.

She traded up on her husband of four months. Maybe that is why the guy is messed up. And she plagiarized her cookbooks. An all around nogoodnik. YMMV.

Eddie Murphy tells it.

rc - Here's Robin's golf routine. I think it's pretty good. (warning tons of eff bombs)

He was purposefully designated to be the straight man on the series.
