"Because we make unsettling music, we can see it being used in a weird way. But it doesn't sit right with us."

"We sent them an invoice for our musical services considering they had gone ahead and used our music without our knowledge and used it as an actual weapon against somebody," keyboardist Cevin Key recently told CTV News. "I am not only against the fact they're using our music to inflict damage on somebody else but they are doing it without anybody's permission."

"Skinny Puppy first learned about the alleged use of their music from a former Guantánamo Bay guard, who was "affected or offended" by the detention camp's practices. Although the Vancouver-born band originally planned to use their new album cover as an invoice to the Pentagon, they have now received "coaching" and apparently sent an actual physical document to government officials. They are even considering a lawsuit."

That reminds me: I need to brush up on my robot.

Got through 55 seconds of the band's video and couldn't take another second.

Yeah, that is torture.

They've earned their money.

Now, play the band's music over loudspeakers throughout Afghanistan. That could empty the county out.

Several problems solved at once.

That's not music - it's noise.

That's a pretty good guess for a moron:

It's called Industrial music - so it IS music.

I know because Skinny Puppy and I were on the same Gettwerk label when I played Industrial as well.

Oh, wait - that's right - President Mom Jeans says I don't have a real career in music.

Just like Sixty says I wasn't raised by slaves.

And everyone else here says I'm wrong about race.

Nevermind.

Question:

Must you ALWAYS give your opinion on things you don't understand?

You ARE usually wrong, y'know,...

If your "music" can be used as a weapon, it might be noise. Ask Britney Spears.

Here's some good advice.

Don't click on Crack's links.

I do head over there once in a while to see if anybody bothers with the madness.

Commenting on Crack's blog is just volunteering to be denounced as the Racist of the Day. Nobody's volunteering. Big Surprise.

Meade is really a low life ass licker. Very guilt ridden white boy. And not very bright. You gotta wonder how that works out with the Mrs.

Leave Britney out of this, or I'll do this:

I have two Skinny Puppy albums from when I was in college. No one would let me play it in earshot, they hated it so much.

I have no defense, but I really liked that shit. And yes, it is noise.

I also listened to The Carpenters and Chopin. Messed up, I am.

That is a great headline on so many levels.

Actually, I kind of liked the video clip, especially the introduction and background music. Not so much the vocalizing. I can't call it singing. But, hey. I like progressive jazz too and many people consider that just discordant noise.

I can see it being used as torture as well. Too much of anything can be torturous. Reminds me of the scene in Adams' Family Values where Wednesday, Pugsley and Joel are confined to the "Harmony Hut"

I mean I like the music. NOT the video clip visuals themselves.

It says they also used Queen as a torture device. Don't get it. Queen is fabulous.

I also like Drop Kick Murphys (Not the best example, but this one makes me laugh)., which is an acquired taste...I suppose.

So, some of my listening tastes can be unappreciated to extent of being torture.

I simply don't understand why they don't just use goats and salt for torture. Doesn't leave a mark at all, can't prove a thing.

So is Skinny Puppy - nice guys, too.

Fabulous people play all kinds of music.

ST is NOT fabulous,...

I'm guessing that nobody's figure skating to Skinny Puppy at Sochi.

I know that Obama hates Skinny Puppy.

He likes them fat and juicy.

With coriander and cumin.

Over rice.

Slavery isn't what happened to you, Butt Crack.

Woodstock is full of guys who did one single or one tour, thought they were set for life, and never learned a job skill.

Just like you, they are now sitting alone in a room and cursing the world because they aren't rich and famous.

This is what happened to you Butt Crack. Lazy asshole.
