News presenters

Are stupid. In large part, they just are. I did not find this recording of a presenter interesting, not realizing his rant is recorded. But why not? Why doesn't he realize that possibility? Because he is colossally stupid. And then later I was standing there, relieving internal pressure that is a call of nature, when the thought of this guy being so incredibly insouciantly guard-down stupid and all other guys besides, the one who decided to keep it, the one who mixed them up, and best of all the woman's dumbfounded nonplussed expression, probably a friend, caused me to laugh so hard I lost control of steady aim and I still cannot stop laughing and now with a mess to clean up besides.

Ladies, please do not be offended, okay? This link is about how stupid guys are sometimes, how arrogant, how unselfconscious, and how hilarious that disaster can be. I hope they don't pull the video down for being too ugly.

What about the person in charge of editing? Fired too? I hope... Idiocracy is everywhere in the age of Obama, Hillary, Harry and Nancy. Coisidence? I think not.

"Ladies, please do not be offended, okay? "

I'm a gentleman, not a lady. Is it okay for me to be offended? Because I am. I'm offended by the stupidity of posting that. And the condescension of telling ladies to not be offended. Okay?

What the hell is going on over here, Lem?

Thank you Rabel. Whew. Still, who comes up with such feather-ruffling nonsense?

Fake or not, that people can believe tells you the state of journalism in the world.

Murrow is spinning.

Exactly. It's all so easy to manipulate.

OK, here's a true story about really stupid newspeople.

Before my priestly career, I worked in politics, and I flew into a particular state to do a media tour concerning a particular piece of legislation. We were in a major city--I'd prefer not to name it--and we got an interview with one of the local TV stations.

So the reporter has my news release; and he's asking me a few questions. The one I remember came after I said something like, "we're here to put some heat on your senators to vote against such-and-such."

And Mr. TV Face asked--with a straight face--"who're our senators?"

He was a sponge; he happily soaked up everything we said and regurgitated it on the TV. There was no evidence he checked anything we told him.

Frankly, I'd hate to live in a world where you *couldn't* spout off some truly offensive BS between you and your friends.

Granted... *not* his friends because someone took the footage and posted it. People say stuff that bad, on purpose, on twitter... knowing and intending it to be between themselves and the wide wide world.

Synova said...

Ah... actually, I have less sympathy since it was a "joke" all along.

Puts it more in the twitter-twat category than the offensive-between-friends category.

If this had been real? Set aside the being taped and broadcast part. If a reporter said that to a coworker? If I'd have been that reporter's boss, I'd probably have fired him, for entirely unprofessional and unacceptable conduct at work.

Father, Virtually every case in which I was involved and reported on had factual errors and misspelled names. And, I've never spoken w/ anyone whose experience is materially different.

Back in the day I lived next door to Roseanne Schamadella. She was a reporter on WABC eyewitness news in the 1970's. She would have some of the news people by her house.

A bigger bunch of idiots would be hard to find.

She had a great name.

She was later lampooned by Gilda Radner on Saturday Night Live as Roseanna Rosannadanna.

Spot on.

My bride had what my daughter has diagnosed as Packer Tourette's. The usually classy woman yells, "SHIT, FUCK, SOB!!" My daughter almost pisses her pants laughing @ her mom. The Niner's area better team. The weather was not a factor. The Packers stayed close, which they needed to do. They couldn't stop the mulatto QB w/ lots of tats, just like last year. They went through a span back in the 90's when they just couldn't beat the Cowboys and the blonde haired Aikman QB.

Trooper York said...

Sorry about the Packers.

They need a new quarterback. Just sayn'

ndspinelli said...

If the Giants offered Gomer and a first round pick for Rogers, and they would in a heartbeat, the Packers and NO TEAM would take it. The REAL Manning, Brady and Rodgers are the top 3 QB's/ Gomer fell below Jay Cutler. Now, there's a QB worth ragging on. Or that no account w/ the Lions.

I am amused at Meade's impression of Dana Carvy's Church Lady. Too funny. I hope he didn't get the fantoid vapors.

I'm sure I'm offended. I must be, right? I mean, it's offensive, so yea, I would be, so I guess I am. Yep, I'm offended... and laughing. That's what's happening over here - laughing..., but also being offended. No really, I am very very offended. Shut up! I bet I'm more offended than you are. You just say you're offended to try and make me feel bad, and I find that offensive too, and still, I'm laughing, which is also offensive... and funny. Someone should just shut this place down before it coarsens the debate and ruins lives.

Trooper, Not responsive to the proposition. Because you know I'm correct. NOBODY would make that trade.
