Madison Public Library cancels Bill Ayers

"Former Weather Underground terrorist and Obama associate Bill Ayers is having trouble with his book tour, it seems. Local news sources in Wisconsin report that his latest public appearance has been canceled due to a lack of public interest.
The Madison Public Library, which had organized the hour-long event, said they “didn’t have the kind of interest” they had anticipated.
Ayers has been touring the country in support of his new book, Public Enemy: Confessions of an American Dissident."

He was too conservative for Madison.

Maybe he needs to set off another bomb or two so people don't just yawn and ignore him?

Isn't marginalizing an Alinsky tactic?

Bout time.

Karleton Armstrong is his sole fan in Madison. They like a pair of aging bombers.

Actually this is a perfect example of why the US has never had a formal socialist party. (or has has been said, the lust for socialism in the 20s and 30s was dulled "by the ready availability and low-price of beefsteak.") As the saying goes, the dogs don't like the dog-food. Ayers' statist ideas and those of his like-minded minions are only popular within the echo-chambers of the fever-swamps of the academic left. When exposed to the light people reject them like Dracula avoids the cross--which is why such ideas can only be imposed on the public on a national scale via bureaucratic regulation and executive fiat by shape-shifting charlatans like Obama. If the details are known in advance ("we have to pass the bill to see what's in it") the public inevitably rejects them--which is why Obamacare was "deemed passed" in a Constitutional farce of a shell-game rather than actually voted on after extensive public hearings.

As I understand it, the Library just cancelled the meet & greet portion of the evening that they were trying to charge $25 for. Ayres apparently still was allowed to hawk his book at the free, public portion later on.

Still ... encouraging.

I wrote my alderman ahead of the event voicing my displeasure that the library the city taxpayers just paid $30 million to renovate would be whored out for this murderous traitor to self-promote and preach his divisive vitriol.

I think you're wrong, ST, I think it's the dog food. Ronald Reagan and his ideas were extremely popular with the college-aged crowd of that era..

In the original Breathless there's a scene where a renowned author gives an impromptu press conference.

He says some interesting things.

I can't imagine why anyone would want to meet an author under any other circumstances.

If it were $25 bucks so you could punch him in the nose, maybe the turnout would improve.

More like 25 cents.

If he's lost Madison, what about Choomie?

Choomie's dreamy.

It's that second earring. Harrison Ford only has one, and he has trouble making it work. Ayers has the face he deserves. He looks fatuous and self indulgent.
