'Bags of Weed are not Welcome'

SEATTLE -- Despite the recent legalization of recreational marijuana* in Washington, Seattle police want to remind everyone that thrift stores can't resell donated bags of pot.

In the release, police say "Donating to thrift shops is a terrific way to give a second life to your well-loved Velcro sneakers, keyboards or flannel zebra jammies," but they say tires, soiled mattresses, laptops and bags of weed are not welcome.*

A thrift store employee called police Thursday afternoon to say he found a garbage bag containing 2.5 pounds of pot in the store's donation bin.

Police confiscated the marijuana and put it into evidence for destruction.

The petition is to "Federally Legalize, Tax and Regulate Marijuana". How stupid is that? Apparently just enough to get a bunch of potheads to go for it.

Amazing. I was up in Washington State last month and the big news among the pro-pot heads was how the government needed to crack down on independent growers and users, which if allowed to continue would threaten the very profitable pot monopolies set up by the state.

When people are thinking that a single pot clinic can clear a $million a year, they sure are going to want the heavy hand of the feds to enforce that monopoly.

It's still a fucking weed, people, it grows free in the woods.

We gave her back the wacky LPN. She's now regaling TOP w/ her unique form of crazy. That should be enough.

Pot doesn't grow free in the woods. At least, not the kind worth smoking. The kind worth smoking needs a lot of TLC. It's grown indoors under the lights, and every step is carefully monitored.

That said, turning over the biz to a state monopoly seems silly. But, hey, I live in Woodstock, and I know how the government worshippers think.

We donated our old Mazda RX-6 to some charity or other.

It was in okay condition but it was leaking from the rack and showing it's age in other ways and it wasn't worth repairing.

I assume that it's now some illegal Mexican's pride and joy, fully tricked out, with one of those obnoxious mufflers that make that raspy blatting noise.

No, it was an MX-6.

Probably smells like beans by now, anyway.

Hmmmm, donated weed.

As your mother would say, "How do you know where it's been?".
