I noticed a lot of hand gestures in this "interview", so I went and did a little research. (click more)
Mime
Students of mime learn to tell whole stories through their gestures. They celebrate a time before language, when all communication was in gesture and movement.
Function
Stage gestures are not as in real life, nor are they forced or false. In actor Basil Hoffman's book, "Acting: How to be good at it", he says in real life a person does not need to gesture meaningfully or otherwise communicate.
Pictures
A gesture conveys a thousand words. Without them the audience could just read the play at home. Gestures must be genuine and not simply added to punctuate the words at regular intervals (Shakespeare's sawing the air).
Realism
Basil Hoffman says amplified realism is the goal and result of truthful acting. By implication he includes truthful gestures. "Amplified realism is what the audience sees when the actor has done his work properly," Hoffman says. He warns that the audience must never see the process the actor took to create the truthful character.
Discipline
Acting is disciplined, truthful behavior in contrived situations, Hoffman says. Discipline takes many forms and one of them is discipline in gestures.
This comes from training and concentration.
A disciplined, truthful gesture shows the actor is "in the moment."

I actually stopped listening at this point. One can only listen to such gross misrepresentations for brief intervals without the red alerts blowing up in my head.
I still am puzzled that CA cannot find -- well, at least rational Dem represetatives. Shoot -- elect Mickey Kaus for sanity's sake.
Was just mentioning to hubby the other day that she really is over the hill, and there is possibly something wrong with her cognition these days. The deterioration will be remarkable as soon as she steps down.

Sound off, I see gesticulation, much of it generous, blossoming, bursting forth, strength fortitude. Her lips are too thin tea party to read, I assume whatever she is saying relates to her astonishing tea party ability to reach into the Republican mind specifically theirs and from all of them all at once, she's tea party very good at this you know, draw general conclusions as to their true motives aims and desires to shed light on dark areas otherwise tea party hidden by their devious personalities and tea party.
But my favoritestest in the whole world is Elizabeth Warren, she is intolerable here with the sound on but excellent with it off, just look at these gesticulations.
And the thing is, the thing that impresses me is she gets back to it. She's numbered her fingers and she's really thought about this. You can tell it is not idle hand waving, I honestly thought she has some kind of training. Sound off! Hearing people do not do that. They wander off in their speeches, get sidetracked, or ad lip so the numbering system they suggest at first is not followed through. Like: I will talk about part A divided into three parts 1,2,3, let's start with 2 because that's most important right now. Then fail to pick up all the pieces which makes the interpreter look bad.
The "eloquent" I did not hear her say (as I mentioned above, I couldn't bear it anymore).
Just reading it makes me think she never bothers to listen. to. um. inflect up. him. Full stop.

Yea, I saw that on TV, and I swear that's exactly what I was thinking: Here it comes, she's gonna say it circa 2009, but then wow, she digs deep and come up with some other equally unfounded reason why some of us don't like the President. Apparently on planet Moonbat people never simply disagree about policy or ideology, they only love you or hate you out of racism or envy.
Personally, I hate Obama for being half-white. It makes us white guys look bad. I mean we assume it would be cool to be half-black and be half-hung and half-good at basketball, but he screwed up that fantasy. Both halves of him suck, and I did not expect that.
I do like that he's "brilliant" though, because no lefty ever calls me that. Thems fightin words if they do.
He's only as eloquent as TOTUS, as Syria has proven, and her definition of effective is far different than mine.

Obama isn't eloquent. Really, Obama sounds like he's stoned.
I no longer understand the paranoia of Dem leaders like Pelosi. "The Republicans cannot stand Obama?" Would that it were so. The fact is the Republicans are petrified by the R word and in five years have barely laid a glove on the Manchurian Muslim Black Racist Marxist from Hell.
Even Pelosi knows the race card is worn out, but she still believes deep down that were all racists. I don't buy that she believes what she says here. She just doesn't want to say what she really believes, because she knows it's passe' rhetoric.
The Democrats are going to keep calling Republicans "racists" until the Republicans stop them.
Because responding with "how dare you?" or "I'm not a racist because nobody dislikes racism more then me" or "Some of my best friends are black" - hasn't worked for 40 years.
