Do you know the middle of New Jersey consists of lots of green and even farms and an abundance of strip malls.

People go to restaurants in strip malls. Could you imagine?

Now that I travel there I was pleasantly surprised in the "diversity" of the land.

New Jersey has a huge population of Indians too. You can't swing a cat without hitting an Abu. The train seriously smells of curry. There is one stop-I think Edison that is major curry capital.

The communities didn't organize as expected, apparently.

So now the Messiah has to compare himself directly to Saint Skittles.

But the idea of Choom saying something like this is hilarious!

Truly, madly, deeply.

He was raised as a son (grandson, actually) of privilege, educated (or at least enrolled) at the best schools available, given every break because of his skin and physiognomy, and welcomed into the Establishment to the point his attitudes and preferences have everything to do with upper class whites and nothing to do with poverty-class blacks.

Yes, he was like Saint Skittles in that he was a pot-smoking punk who isn't anywhere near as tough as he thinks he is, but the idea Our Dear Fuhrer has ever heard a car lock click and known it's because he was half black is risible.

Next time you go to Jersey, get up to Ridgewood, Fairlawn, and Glen Rock. Beautiful up there, but not as hot.

Princeton's too close to Philadelphia and Camden

Wayne, where the lady from TOP lived is just a tad west.

One of them I miss cause I kind of took him under my wing. Handsome guy, was totally shitty with the ladies, which disheartened me. I tried to get him to at loosen up and get him laid, but I tried to do it so often that he would finally tell me to stop cause his parents were trying to find a wife for him, which if anyone found out that it wouldn't bode well for him. No, it is UVA, kind of snobbish, uppity. Here is my experience on the first day of my first class: the prof told us to form project groups. At the end of the class, I went from one group to another asking if I could be in their group. They just looked at each other and didn't say anything. That happened with three groups and in the fourth group, there was a PhD student (so perhaps more mature?) and he seemed nice and when everybody kept mum, he told others, hey let her in. But by that time, I felt humiliated and ran to my car with tears and dropped the course the next day. (Unfortunately that soured it for me but I had to stick with the same group for all my classes over the next two years).

I had a wonderful young professor for my adviser. I went and told him the next day about what happened and why I was not going back to that class. One explanation he gave was that these people knew each other from undergrad and I was new but what I could not understand was how they would not look at me or talk to me.

Unfortunately it was a core class for graduation I had to waste a semester waiting to take it again when they offered it in Fall. It was the same professor and but you know what he did -- he made the groups first day of class and he assigned me to a couple of others who were all new, and NJ woman was one of them. My suspicion was that my young adviser had told the prof about my experience and he changed the rules.

Would you care to see what stats on this place look like? It's blogger and they're stingy with their counts compared to other counts. I have no idea how they do it. They say, but it does not match with other sites that say the same thing and report higher numbers. They say unique visits, but if you typed "com" in your browser's address bar and it took over automatically because you were here before, and presented the page, it would not count you as unique visitor. You did not hit the post specifically, and that's what it's counting.

The numbers are reversed of regular blog numbers. Usually a blog will have upwards to 100 page visits before anyone dares to speak out and bothers to sign up, so 100 to 1, a nice round figure fresh from my butt, and this is the reverse of that, 1 to 1, or even 2 or 3 comments to 1 unique visit. So commenter's blog, by its numbers. Numbers on the right. Englarge. blue numbers are comments, black numbers are unique visits. Open thread, 33 comments, 14 unique visits. People come and leave a lot of comments.

A beach cottage? We call those houses here. But that's a great price. I'd invite you over, for a dip in the jacuzzi, but my house is a mess right now in the middle remodeling. Tearing out walls and stuff, getting ready for a big gay wedding I'm having soon. What do ya think of that? I'm against gay marriage, but I'm best man in a gay wedding at my house. Maybe I'll make a scene and invite Fred Phelps.

Anyway, on behalf of all us left coast basket cases, I welcome you both, and hope you enjoy our stuff. Should be great weather as always. Check out Venice Beach at least one Saturday or Sunday afternoon, have a cold beer down on the strand and watch the sunset with some street music. Not fancy, but interesting scenery. Best beer place is probably at Rose Ave and the beach, but there are a bunch of them along the 3 mile strand.

Enjoy, and remember - someone's watching.
