And yet, as a metaphor with regards to her dynamiting, road side bombing her blog, it is totally useful. Its useful because I'm here on the other side, w/o a direct connection, which she had built and tended to for years and decided to cut off with a seemingly careless haste.

Ann seems big on metaphors Lem.
Ann suggests this story is a metaphor. She is right, Ann and Meade are the tigers (well more neutered Wisconsin house cats than tigers), spinning around the tree until they turn into butter. As for the valuable heartwood that the woodcutters were seeking, that is what the commentators used to create. Until she drove them away.

Althouse says she tried to warn us via a policy of good faith commenting. But it seems to me that she failed to live up to her own policy of "good faith" by punishing people who had done nothing wrong, people who's only crime was to come to her defense many times when she was attacked and maligned.
I hope she comes back from the self imposed exile.

Good morning Lem--have be a long time reader of what I believe are the remails of the althouse blog--I have enjoyed your comments and look forward to participating on your blog--I generally comment about military/national security stuff and also public health issues--those are a function of my experience and education.
